Point out one thing that's wrong with capitalism without blaming it on the government.
Point out one thing that's wrong with capitalism without blaming it on the government
The government is part of capitalism, user.
Workers having to sell their labor
...
Why even work when you can get shit for free from the government, right?
it's shocking how people can say that going to the same job every day to work for a boss and get the same wages to buy the same things is not wasting your life
even going on holiday to escape it just feeds back into getting you to do more work to produce more so that you can have enough money to buy those experiences
you specialise in making a bit of a nail and you do that every day, making nailbits becomes who you are and your whole existence depends on your making nailbits and the pay you get from your boss for doing that
even a higher level "intellectually stimulating" job is just all the same shit everyday, we live in a deeply sick society where people have convinced themselves that they are satisfied with their lives and all the routine that comes along with it, while you can tell this isn't true by all the fantasies of adventure and fulfillment the very same system is selling us and that we spend all our free time on having these desires that are never realised
Wage slavery.
Do you ignore huge swaths of information on purpose?
...
the antagonism between use-value and value resulting in external factors affecting society's mode of production. The mode of production which created this value becomes enslaved by it.
Yeah seems like you've got a pretty big blind spot.
sweatshops
inb4 le crony capitalism meme
Most people are not actively engaged in their work and will probably never be fulfilled in their work career.
capitalists control the government.
private property
There are inherent contradictions in this mode of production, but there were plenty more in feudalism, so capitalism was a superior solution at the time. It is no longer useful.
Capitalism ensures that the few with power (money) will have the ability to ensure their holding of their wealth and expansion of it without doing labour while preventing the other class from achieving ownership over the means of production.
...
This doesn't really fit OP's criterion because capitalist control of society is just more effective because it is nuanced and maintained through social norms that it establishes. Power can also be maintained more bluntly.
production for profit
Planned obsolescence, or, barring that "conspiracy," irrational waste caused by cyclical consumption to maintain unrealistic fantasies of infinite growth. Capitalism, in its hypermodern (supermodern) form, shows us this new dimension of commodity fetishism when it inverts the reference point of use as function indexed in superior form rather than superior function being the index for form. In other words, capitalism likes to reproduce ersatz goods, circulating the passé as innovative, and sells you trash painted gold. Today's permissive capitalism can be formulated like that: the more you have; the more you want; the more you drink; the more you are thirsty; the more you obey the superego; the more you feel guilty for not enjoying enough. These paradoxes of surplus enjoyment, is precisely what keeps capital afloat today, more and more so in virtual space, with all these excesses of form (in currency, in branding, et c), pretentious content that dulls the creative spirit. Consume nothingness itself, the pure semblance of property! These kinds of criticisms (of surplus-enjoyment) were already developed by Marx and a wonderful homology can be found in Lacan's objet petit a.
Apple computers
just that in general
Also, centrist liberals like Donald Trump. He's not technically government yet.
Yo mamma.
It takes capitalism for a person to fatten themselves like yo mamma, one shovel at a time.
the future is now
Trying to read this gave me existencial horror…
Capitalism is unsustainable and the rate of profit is going to hit zero in 2050-20270
O' Groucho Grecian you know I'd do anything to pique your interest~
No, I mean they all get messed up in my head and it's like looking at a soggoth or something.
Well, you can't say I didn't try…
lol
get the fuck out
Fuck yuo, cunt.
how have women helped the revolution again
oh wait they didnt
Fucking off yourself, stupid revisionist traitor.
we let women have much more of a say
and look where it got us today
on the precipice of total neo-liberal globalism ayy
Completely ahistorical BS with no contingence towards actual details and factual moment. You're literally just consolidating your position in a presumptive milleau of stupidity, actually hypothesizing that something supposedly "coming before" was the retroactive cause of its desire (post hoc ergo propter hoc).
burden of proof is on you to show that women haven't just spent all of these decades just mooching off of the men attempting to take society to the next stage of evolution
God, you're pathetic and insufferable. It's like you have no command for any semblance of actual logic.
Read a book you faggot
The extraction of surplus profit
Typical woman tbh fam.
This is cyberbullying at this point. Consider yourself reported ;_;
Kidding. Wouldn't be worth the time to write the ticket.
Literally, just walk away from the computer.
And back into the kitchen where you can at least feed a useful comrade.
I don't think it's healthy to be eating this late. Might disturb one's circadian rhythms. Additionally, I only feed cats, myself, and immediate family. Nepotism? Maybe. But, as you said, we are well within trying times of global capital and must resort to practical programs of chow in order to make due with ourselves…
Then start your own business together with other socialists, problem solved.
This has to be bait.
What is the issue with starting your own business?
you need capital to start
you can borrow, but in the environment of stagnation it's a desperate move
returns on invested capital is a key factor
The cherry on cake is you get harsher conditions to borrow when you have less capital in the first place… The rich gan mobilize great amount of capital for ridiculously low interests whereas the poor get usury…
...
He does have a point. Capitalism wouldn't exist without private property protections.
The drive for profit leads to lower quality products that are cheaper to produce, need replacing often, and don't get any cheaper.
Wage labour is different from work. Having to sell your labour while the capitalist extracts surplus value is a negative point of capitalism since people don't get the full results of their work, this is also connected to alienation, another point against capitalism.
Work itself isn't inherently bad. You should read some books on economics before you try to argue about it.
lol jus stard a bidness and do those things 2 urself
If I'm a waiter in a restaurant, does that mean the chef is exploiting me when I don't get the full value written on the check, the cost of raw ingredients excluded?
If you're working for wages you are being exploited.
is the chef the owner?
you really don't get this fucking simple concept?
The chef is not letting me keep the full value of my labor.
Not strictly true, at least not in the Marxist sense of the term. There's a distinction to be made between productive and unproductive labour, with the former being that which produces surplus-value, and the latter being that which merely consumes it. A woman hired to clean a factory is productive, a woman hired to clean the factory owner's house is unproductive. As the second woman is not producing surplus-value, she is not technically exploited.
She is not exploited in either scenario as she was employed, which means it's voluntary.
...
Shit bait Stormnigger.
That's a fact of nature – it's not imposed on you by someone else.
Please don't cuss at me.
Yes it is. In nature, i have direct access to ressources, i get what i gather or hunt, i have the whole product of my labor. In capitalist society, i can't have direct access to the means of my subsistance because the ressources needed to do so already belong to someone else, so i must sell myself to him.
Do not confuse actions of men with natural laws.
