Holy FUCK Holla Forums, I never realized what a country club was until recently. I was looking at a map of my city, looking for public parks, when I noticed these massive patches of green on the map. Turns out they're country clubs– bigger than any of the public parks in my entire city. This is where rich cunts go to play golf I guess. It's absolutely disgusting. I can't believe they're allowed to waste so much space and keep it to themselves.

Cricket/tennis/golf basically aren't any better than other sports but they require considerable space and expensive equipment that allows you to flaunt your affluence at the same time as participating in recreation.

Apparently it is worth it, because like you say there are so many other things they could do with the land that would generate revenue. If they didn't get enough money through restaurants and golf courses, they would turn it into something else, which leads me to the conclusion that a country club IS a good use of land in this instance. I think the real reason it bothers you is that you aren't successful enough to be part of one.
