Is climate change real?

If it is, what can the left do about it?

Yes.
Nothing.

Yes.
Win.

Environmental destruction hurts humanity in many ways. We need to end capitalism so that people stop putting short term profits ahead of our long term livelihood as a species.

Let it run its course, the human problem has been around for too long.

No.
Free market me the fuck up, baby.

well false flagged

Climate change is happening, there are new extremes on both sides. Is it man made or not? we don't know

However environmental destruction is happening and harming the planet

I already got banned for eco-revisionism.

World Revolution.

Earth has reached her self harming teen phase. The ozone has burned a hole in itself, for fun, there's nothing to worry about.

1. Yes
2. Add provisions for ecology to socialism. A socialist revolution could go a tremendous way towards reducing pollution and carbon emissions just by reorganizing society. Eliminate consumerism, focus on the production of durable goods, slow down commodity production while employing more people, for fewer hours but with living wages. Focus on regional and local production; undo global supply chains for all but a few essential industries. Discourage immigration and encourage birth control. Just doing that could cut down emissions immensely; reorganization of population to discourage motor vehicle traffic, expansion of renewables, and massive focus on new energy tech could conceivably give us carbon neutral civilization within our lifetimes. Geoengineering projects could buy us some time to get the latter implemented and avoid the worst of global warming. But none of this gets done without the abolition of global capitalism.

Are you Tasmanian, user?

...

Obviously.

Not really counting on the left to accomplish this one, but I hope some cynical virologist or doomsday cult goes full twelve monkeys and develops a virus to wipe humanity out.

this comrade knows what's up

1.Ye.
2. Pebble bed reactors. Then we start building the Dyson sphere.

Yes we do, you fool

It's not "climate change", it's anthropogenic global warming. "Climate change" was made up by neocons to make it sound less scary than it is.

I really dislike this constant focus among liberals/leftists on preserving mass immigration. IMO the point should be to make all regions of Earth roughly equal in terms of basic standards of living, NOT just guarantee that anyone with means can easily move from shitty parts of the planet to the okay parts.

Plus people who are indigenous to regions tend to give more of a shit about preserving their land, compared to people who move in and out. It's always the locals who fight to preserve natural resources, landmarks, and historic structures. Even in the absence of inequality, war, or disasters that spur immigration, we should reconnect people with nature and community, not incentivise them to move around at a whim en masse.

LE SPOOX XDDDDDD

Pushing people to respect borders more than people is the direct opposite of what class consciousness needs. It allows people who focus on it to be more easily manipulated politically by their own identity politics and national identity. It delays the inevitable, and the delay itself is damaging.

Find a way to deal with the fact national boarders and national identities are melting, not kicking and screaming its actually happening. Kicking and screaming can be co-opted quite easily, and of course,it does fuck all in terms of solving climate change, on top of the problems solving it politically that may emerge from nationalistic fervor being co-opted.

Nationalism was stupid in the past, in the present, it's futile. Change your politics to adapt.

...

...

Almost every single nationalistic political party, is not fighting the state as it is. Capitalism, as it is. It is working Capital to the best function of the particular state. The existence of class conscious left nationalists is arguable, but the vast majority are not left.

America for example, the nationalistic fervor has been co-opted by those who refuse climate change even exists. For Europe its fuck all better in terms of long term solutions to these problems that don't involve isolationism in a time where nations matter less and less and less and less.

It's a way to stumble.

And how does a borderless world in any way reduce the impact of global warming or capitalism?

Because they (rightly) see "fighting climate change" as just another way for BIG GUMMINT crony-capitalists to line their pockets via government subsidies for blue-sky pork projects, and as yet another attack on their jobs and identity by disconnected Coastal/Urban shitlibs (lol, maybe if you went to an Ivy like I did you wouldn't need to survive off coal mining, Billy-Bob!)

And let's be honest, no-one on either side of the fence really cares about climate change. If they did, they wouldn't have been pushing for immigration.

Are you the same stalinstache tripfag who got the boot for "Eco-revisionism" or whatever that was?
