I have only watched a couple of episodes of AHS so I don't know anything about it or this. But the opening scene was great. I couldn't tell if it was making fun of liberals or not, but showing them breaking down in tears like they were watching a terrorist attack was great.(Un?)fortunately I got distracted by burger so I quit watching after the first break and I wasn't much of a fan of the show to begin with. The newer shows have autistic level of clean cinematography, but that's not a compliment because you can easily notice the fake sets and shitty editing. It doesn't leave room for the mind to fill in detail.

All they needed to do to make this genuinely horror and not a total shillfest would have been to make the candidates fictional, but obvious parallels to the real ones. Then they could have exaggerated and blown out of proportion all they liked, turning the FRUMP supporters into actual cultists and supernatural horrors. This fig leaf of fiction is how politics have been historically handled by fiction franchises, for good reason. It's actually more effective poltically.
