Socialism needs to emerge out of the West or it will never succeed.

Any revolution in a third-world country will be either crushed by local elites or destroyed by the West.

Socialists who support anti-Western capitalists like Putin are achieving nothing.

...

...

to be fair i had to read that several times too.

it looks rather like it says
"socialists (who support anti-western capitalists) like Putin are achieving nothing"

I think socialism has to emerge in one of the super powers, if China became full state socialist I think it would survive

China seems to act pragmatically as much as possible. It suits them a great deal to have their own industrial revolution off the back of capitalism.

or there's a huge number of party members who don't care about ideology and are self-serving

there are verry rich and powerful people in charge of the world, you didn't vote for them, you didn't choose them, yet they control everything, doesn't matter who you vote for, he'll end up doing what they tell him to do

Shut up prole, I have dollars to make!

This was a good game

States being powerless in face of global capitalism doesn't mean that there aren't economical, technological and social circumstances that are nation-based and more like to favor socialism you doofus.

which is why we need international solidarity

OP is on point btw. This is the lesson Leninists and Chavists refuse to learn.

how do you suggest we do this ?

OP is right. I know instinctively that we could never achieve socialism in my country without the developed countries intervening and destroying us before setting up a puppet ruler. You guys need to fix your shit, so we can do what we need to here.

Not OP but the answer is, of course, an Internationalism that is efficient and democratic. Imagine the first two Internationals at their peak with today's technology? With finance, with a good propaganda apparatus, with parties all over the globe.

reads best like this

There is literally no mechanism by which China's government can become socialist

The US has much, much greater chances than China

Why do you think this?

China is the worst type of government imaginable.

It's incredibly capitalist while also being a repressive authoritarian state.

The Chinese government largely serves as a public Pinkerton agency, keeping a huge base of workers around but powerless and making money off of deals with Western corporations.

With no way for the Chinese people to affect their own governance, and with no freedom of assembly, we can't expect things to change.

the affection some edgy liberals have for Putin is terrifying

Socialism won't reemerge in the west until capitalism collapses and the middle class ceases to exist.

Well Duh!
Save socdems and mutualists no one believes the capitalists can be politely asked to politely step down.
