I just use Bunsenlab's Openbox scripts.

Wait two months.
Then you will know why you fear the Arch.

read the last post OP

AUR is garbage. I want full verifiability when a package is installed, but sadly only a few distros care about reproducibility.

more than half the shit ive installed from AUR is broken

That's when I went to Gentoo and started using custom overlays (vapoursynth and retroarch) that I realized how shit the AUR is. Arch kiddies are simply not fit to make proper packages.

Right

actually that was me, get the iso then and do what i did

Gentoo waists too much time, you gotta manually install everything directly from source. its not worth the frustration it causes trying to install that shitty distro, it just makes me mad even just thinking about Gentoo

I'll get the ISO and read it if you tell me the path of the file I need to read. If you can't tell me the path of the file I'm going to assume you're trying to waste my time.

user, i am not trolling/joking or anything like that. it was when i was using #! when it was still being updated. i looked in every text file in the whole dang system. dont beleave me then, its not like i lose or win anything and even if say i was trolling you i wouldnt know that my trolling worked...look or dont its up to you, but i guess you could search for a text file with the words NSA in it

id tell you more but lose lips sink ships

Compilation times aren't a problem if you't not using shitware. Occasionally using your CPU to compile xorg or firefox isn't really hard; you still can browse the web and listen to music while waiting; you can even set it with a high nice and do everything you do usually.
See for a proper answer. You got memed hard, kiddo.

but can it be as minimal as crunchbang was?

Do a search yourself. Use grep -r, it's easy that way. I don't feel like downloading it without something concrete.
Don't make extraordinary claims without any backup.

Minimalism =/= small size, low number of packages

I have a Gentoobox that literally only has one package in its World, Emacs. Is that minimalism? Stop wanking your epeen. Someone might take you seriously.

wait until there's a major package change, like the desktop environment, and you're thrown for a loop for a few hours trying to get a workflow. Unless all you're using is twm, xterm and xclock, you'll see something major change every month or so. I'd rather have the relearning experience restricted to the time I install something.

Emacs is a minimal operating system.

Yeah, I know. It's too bad I need GNU/Linux as a bootloader. Then again, I guess people do the same thing with so-called minimalist distros like Alpine in Docker. If I can be honest for a sec, I honestly don't understand the difference between a command like cat in a normal Unix environment and the cat command emulated in elisp in eshell. Both of them are technically minimal in terms of size, right? So the only difference is the container, really. But, really, what's the difference between Emacs and its tiny, tiny C core and GNU/Linux in some kind of docker container? If anything, the former is more efficient. The whole minimalism/epeen thing has always confused me. FreeBSD proponents brag about how much more "minimal" and "Unix-like" their operating system is compared to GNU bloat, but then they love to parade distinctly un-Unix solutions like dtrace and ZFS everywhere as a testament to their success. Literally the most successful thing about FreeBSD are its ammendments to the Unix model, not its adherence to Unix. It's literally no different than GNU--one might just be technically superior to the other in a certain lens.

why? i already know its there faggot, i read it. i was just giving OP a warning about #!. i really did like them till i found it. i have not5hing to gain from getting the iso then doing live then finding and doing screen shot just to make you happy. im not your fucking host and you aint my root so go rmfs yourself, im just trying to warn them Mr.FBI

Warnings are a lot more effective if they're believable

i dont care, its not worth the effort to prove anything, like i said i gain nothing from this so i dont really care but i care enough to just post it.

you gain that people might believe you

Gentoo is pretty powerful, but I'd rather use NixOS or Guix

if your still about, thanks. im actually not much of a fan of DE, id rather just have a run command window to do everything, waist of ram. ill have to look into it more

If you don't want DE I'd suggest a tiling WM like xmonad or herbsluft.

In the long run, the AUR is going to be replaced by DAADs anyway, but for now, it's mighty convenient.

You don't compile shit manually.
That's a big reason I love Gentoo, it's a very batteries included OS.
If there's something to go wrong, Portage likely can help you fix it if the developers didn't straight up write a specialized tool for it themselves.
Arch takes a long time to fix because of its KISS nature.
There are no utilities to help you fix things. You are on your own.

Who could have foreseen the original being better than a cheap imitation?

kiki is so fucking hot

Is that's true, then were's all the porn?

what the fuck is a daad?

yeah, another user pointed that out. i dont use straight arch, id be fucked if i did. i like to mess around with alot of stuff. i use manjaro now cause they have a safty net for fuck ups. the only distro that will move me off of manjaro is gentoo...but gentoo might not like me cause i mess with stuff alot and might break my system. does gentoo have a safty net?

you said portage can fix fuck ups. how much can it fix? can it roll back to original install?

It's time to install CloverOS

cloveros.ga/s/CloverOS-x86_64-20180219.iso

Nevermind, an Arch update just broke GIMP among other things. Now switching to CrunchBang++, switched to Debian 9 basically as soon as it released unlike BunsenLabs which is still on Debian 8

Sorry, I'm not retarded enough to do so

t. nigger

literally who?
literally who?
literally who?
literally who?

Damn you, cloverOS dev, I demand a version of clover with infinity logos and branding for Holla Forums, and I'm too lazy to do it myself.

Does it use X11? I can't stand a Linux distro that relies on that ancient piece of shit library. You literally can't programically move windows around the screen because X11 treats that as hints.

Do you often use FileZilla? Why?
