Anime hasn't been good since the turn of the century, and cartoons fell off around 2007. But most mediums are like this, with good stuff being the exception. Along with that, anime fans are very elitist about the perceived quality of the medium, and are often unpleasant. But, one medium isn't inherently superior to the other and is ultimately up to preference.

I just got into anime this year, there are more watchable animes than there are watchable cartoons.
/a/ is constantly complaining about shows, sakurada reset, bahamut virgin soul, and recreators are all garbage.
There's nothing amazing this season, though made in abyss has a lot of promise but I've got more stuff to watch that's decent entertainment, generic adventure > total lack of adventure shows in western animation (adventure time is a walking abortion).
Every cartoon movie event is shit and all the funny cartoons are dead, gumball was cancelled this year yes? If you want an overarching plot there are almost no options in cartoons and what there is is overwhelmingly bad.
Princess principal, Jikan no Shihaisha, Made in abyss, Enmusubi no Youko-chan, Aho girl, these are all currently airing and worth watching nothing amazing but a longer list than the cartoons I currently watch.
I haven't but if I were to list the good animes and the good cartoons I'm certain the anime list would be longer, they both have trash but there's more cartoon trash and less cartoon treasure. Though I'm not going to stop watching cartoons or loving the ones I love.

Naruto had a great finish in my opinion, why they chose to do another series baffles me. Baki has kind of dived since Retsu died.
Yeah but at least with anime you get a fuck ton of new ones each year which increases the chances of there being at least one that's an enjoyable watch that doesn't involve your penis taking control or people watching it to make themselves look smart.
Our best chance is Netflix proving direct sales is a profitable method for cartoons that aren't made as cheap as possible; don't even think Japanese Cartoon Network has reached their levels yet and I remember hearing and seeing pics of Dragonball Super having god awful animation in the beginning.

Infinity War II is almost certain, since Marvel will try to ride off of movie hype just like they did with Civil War 2 and Captain America: Civil War. Skrull Invasion 2 would be easy to do, use in crossovers, and it could be used as a springboard to bring Fantastic Four back without giving too many sources to Fox.
Not that user, but I am another Eurofag who read most of these books growing up, and am in mid 20s right now. Only widely available capes were: Batman, Spider-Man, X-Men, Daredevil, and occasional Justice League book. Characters like Lobo and Venom were popular too, and before Marvel films more people were familiar with them than with Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Flash, or Wonder Woman.
