So we see Ez-E dealing drugs and running from the police, random niggers being niggers, Dre's little brother starting fights for no reason, and everyone in the group fucking groupies behind their girlfriend's backs completely accurately. Dune absolutely changed my life, and I mean that sincerely. A story that most of Holla Forums can identify with and learn from.

A sheltered, naive son beats the Jews at their own game, adapts to the environment changing around him, overcomes fear, and finally becomes the Overman. Most importantly, I think, it shows the efficacy of hyper-situational-awareness and active, purposeful perception.

Professional critics hate it because of the pacing and acting, and people who read the book hate it because it doesn't elaborate on the source material deeply enough. I read the books and I love the movie. Dune is near-impossible to adapt anyway and the film does good enough. Read the book too though.
