MTV's Resolutions Video was designed for a Hillary win

Something just occurred to me about the MTV "New Year's Resolutions for White Guys" video: they started working on it before the election. It's designed for a world in which Hillary won.

The first clue is the tone. It has the pre-election, smug, talking down to whitey tone. Since they lost the election, everything from the left has been tears or childish anger. This video clearly has the tone of the pre-loss left.

The second clue is that they don't mention any current events. BLM is months old. They mention MAGA only to say, "America was never great" - but the intended audience for that message are white people who are sad because Trump *didn't* win. The video is saying, "get over it."

I just think it's interesting. This video was intended to further demoralize a defeated enemy. It's like we're seeing something from an alternate universe.

In our universe, MTV was shamed into taking it down. I guarantee that had Clinton won, there wouldn't have been the same backlash against that video, and it would have stayed up. So, Merry Christmas.

Obama's enemies were mostly those thinking you could use logic and reason to take down an opponent.

Trump's enemies were mostly those that thought you could use emotional appeals to take down an opponent.

In retrospect, the left's appeals to emotion were more effective, since they never depended on making an argument which could be countered. For things like Fast and Furious, the left could downplay it by accusing Republicans of engaging in partisan politics, being racist, and getting bogged down in minutiae. Major reason that could work, was because Republicans thought that if they came down with conclusive reasoning for why they were right that others would concede they were wrong.

Trump has changed the game a bit, at least in his own realm of influence, because he understands how much of winning an argument can really have to do with how it is packaged. He dodged attacks by not arguing within the leftist's framework which almost always depends on making their opponent look bad as soon as they start accepting the framework (like when they want people to call illegals 'dreamers').
