Tanks work because if the treads get blown out it's still able to fire back perfectly fine, also actually destroying modern day treads to the point where they aren't functional and roll off is incredibly difficult. So what happens when a mech, quadruped or bipedal, loses a leg? It would have a hard time even firing back if it can't balance properly.

I love giant fucking robots with a passion but it's never going to be viable and cost effective enough to see mass production for military use, ever. The best things we might ever see is something akin to power armor, maybe 10-12 feet tall and able to carry around the power of a small AFV auto cannon, which things like ammo capacity and mobility would still be a huge problem.

My point was that invention requires creativity + the skills required for innovation and invention must come before innovation. Therefore, because whites can invent things, they are effectively superior to asians. However, evolutionary advantages almost always come with a caveat. most of the time, mecha are only ever meant as a weapons platform that works in all conditions. in extreme heat and cold, water, to some degree air. possessing anti-air, ground, infantry, etc. it's the ultimate answer to warfare.

and because they're so large, their armor stops the vast majority of weapons.

in mechwarrior, mechs are unsurprisingly very expensive. for every mech, you'd have a shitload of tanks backing it up, even more infantry, and a fuckton of aircraft. the mech was there to address any – and i mean absolutely any contingencies. if you were going up against an enemy force with a mech and you DIDN'T have one, you may as well just surrender.

realistically, they'd serve a similar purpose. a much smaller mech would be fielded to function in all forms of battlefield.
