So what if Trumps presidency leads to a more isolationist America that costs it ties with other nations?
The very stupid always think this is a situation that defaults to war but real talk: America can barely feed itself as it is. So much food is bulked up with trash that no other nation bar China would pad food out with. You look at a bottle of any American soda and most of the ingredients that are not chemical additives are all imports from countries that are already pretty anti Trump.
So what happens if everyones so busy ranting and raving about who might go to war with who that America has to lean even more on its struggling, monsanto controlled farm belts that the price of food sky rockets and many imported ingedients simply fall off the grid entirely.
Do people think about these things? it seems like you never hear about it but poor food quality is already a problem and has been for decades. If relations and trade agreements get damaged will the American Diet have to go full commie for the next 8 years?
Jaxon Wilson
everything about this question is full of poz. wtf does "costs its ties" mean? wtf is wrong with "isolationist"? you're literally using buzzword faggotry, and ur doing it wrong
Adam Jones
America exports VASTLY more than it imports
in fact, America is the #1 global food exporter, literally no other country ships out more food than america. you have no argument because your base assumtion is incorrect
nationalize it during the war, as has been done since the dawn of fucking time
shit thread, kill yourself
William Morales
North Korea disinfo agent pls go. Only underage and high school drop outs believe their nation is self sufficient.
You understand foods come from different regions and climates right?
Xavier Stewart
If we went full isolationist, we'd just start using that farm land we currently pay farmers to leave fallow.
Cooper Sullivan
...
Evan Gray
If other countries are gonna get butthurt because of the wall and our anti-interventionism then that's their own fucking problem, not ours. Pulling our troops out of the middle east isn't going to make other nations hate us. The globalist kikes and the MSM will use everything in their power to stir shit up sure but no important ties will be cut.
Parker Nelson
1. America produces a giant food surplus. 2. For foods not grown in America, being isolationist and demanding a fair trade deal (we currently have really unfair deals eg China applies 35% tariff to most American made goods and subsidizes their local manufacturing while we give them free access to our markets, so they can sell to us but we can't sell to them) does not mean cutting off trade altogether. It means demanding a fair deal.
Eli Fisher
Jesus Christ dude. We routinely grow more shit than we can eat. Dept of Ag pays farmers not to grow shit sometimes. Fucking moron.
Jaxon Cruz
You do know the USA spans 8 different climates and that NK is less than 10% the size of just the continental USA right? The USA could easily pull off total isolationism, it would just take some restructuring towards agriculture or maybe it wouldn't take any restructuring given all the surplus from shit we wouldn't be exporting.
Brandon Thompson
the world becomes a better place
William Hall
The US is absolutely self-sufficient in food stuffs. We grow enough food to feed everyone in our country. What you're referring to is making sure we have bananas and mangos and coconuts in the middle of January, or a limitless supply of hothouse peppers trucked down from Canuckistan.
Matthew Bennett
Do you understand that just because the nation currently imports a lot of their products, that doesn't mean it needs to?
Jason Price
He's the only one who doesn't want to go to war with Russia so I don't understand your question.
Ian Butler
Fuck off globalist.
Benjamin Hall
fucking what. the only reason we import food at all is trade agreements. and many economies depend on us continuing to do so. if we stopped exporting half of you faggots would starve
Austin Long
you do understand modern agriculture right? Like greenhouses or polytunnels.
Noah Gray
This could mean less aid to Africa. Corporations there will have to pay the slaves with something else. Oh well.
Landon Roberts
Soda isn't food you retard
Eli Murphy
People would trade oil in Gold, Euros, or Yen and tank the petrodollar.
Levi Fisher
Oh neat, it's another Holla Forums thread. I was about to respond but it looks like everything that needs to be said already has. Kill yourself.
Brayden Morgan
Absolutely. And it will be better for the land.
Joshua Richardson
people will have to stop eating and drinking garbage and might actually lose some weight. sounds pretty good to me.
Eli Stewart
I recently saw a historical food show where the hosts ate like they were back in WWII England under rationing. After a week they were healthier and had lost a few pounds.
If we did it in WWII we could do it again. Might be a little harsh the first year while we rotated our crops from corn, corn, and more corn, but nobody would starve. The second year we'd be fine. The only thing we consume a lot of that doesn't grow well in the continental US is coffee and bananas. Neither one of those do well in greenhouses either, but it goes without saying we can live without them.
Everything else—sugar, pineapples, oranges, tobacco, cotton, mangos, potatoes, eggs, milk, meat—all of it can be grown in the US. It will be more expensive, but everyone will have jobs, even teenagers. Our food will be the best in the world, and avocados will sell for $20 each in Japan.
Christopher Flores
lol OP went full retard a simple google search upends each of his arguments
Logan Martinez
It is more about location and technology than absolute size tbh, for example the Netherlands has extremely fertile soil and produces their own consumption many times over, vegetables is at 460% of consumption in 2014.
But like other have said you will miss some foods like banana's, but these can be produced in greenhouses but it is not economically viable vs imports from 3rd world countries.
Dylan Sullivan
Retarded or new?
Isaac Kelly
kill yourself
Thomas Allen
Take it from a third worlder, politician being anti trump will not affect business decision, american dollar is more important than political alignment.
Other countries will stop selling things to america only if your dollar value dipped below zimbabwe.
Isaiah Perry
What a stupid thread, some pretty blatant retardation in this thread.
