He is struggling to look at whoever is in the studio, out of camera shot, in the eyes, struggling to look straight into the camera, and keeps looking at the ground or anywhere but people's faces. If you see the whole interview (not just the snippet that is in the op), he forgets even how to hold a mic close enough for it to pic up his voice clearly. It really is very sad to see how broken he has become, just a complete shell of his former self, but trying really hard to put himself out there and seem like everything is ok.
