Its already a hollywood movie thanks to kojima. Especially past 2nd game where they pretty much drop the actual writer. Then you get one of the biggest mary sues in video games written by 1 experienced and 1 fresh clowns.

Tons of hype around the game. The trailers were awesome and the story of revenge and turning into a demon was highly anticipated. Also the open world and good gameplay too. However, the final game barely delivered on those aspects. The story barely had Venom Snake turn into a demon, instead he was always the good guy doing the right thing. Heck scenes in the trailers weren't even there in the game like this famous one. The open world was barren and did not utilize the gameplay to the extent Ground Zeroes did.

Mainly had to do with the story though. While MGS games, especially MGS4 was criticized for a convoluted story with tons of cutscenes, MGSV was the opposite. Not enough meat in the story and had a lack of cutscenes. Most of the missions in the game were filler that barely advanced the plot, things should have been amazing but it didn't turn out that way. People put all their eggs in MGSV in following its development so some disappointment would be expected but not exactly on the scale we saw. Lot of content was cut from the game too, one whole mission which is a conclusion to one big plot line isn't even in the game despite some cutscenes present in the game directory and that it was highly important to the story too.

All in all, it was a mess.

I've always appreciated the cinematography and sound design of Lucas' films. He should've worked as a cinematographer and sfx director after Star Wars ended, this is his true talent.
