Someone said in another thread a desire for unity shows that you're new to the left and hadn't even read the manifesto. And they have a point. The divisions are usually there for a reason. Trotskyists take the cake for petty sectarianism, but the divide between MLs and the average anarchist is more than skin deep. It cuts to the bone.

Nobody's denying that there are serious ideological differences between he sub-groups of the left, it's more of an issue of finding ways to work around our differences to reach a compromise, or at least coexist, for the sake of actually overcoming capitalism.

When the revolution hits, the M-Ls take the cities, and the anarchists take the countryside (minus the farmland needed to feed the cities). Both sides agree to work independently on their own ideological visions of Communism without imposing their will on each other.

So basically what you are saying is that anarchists get control of all the resources that the "m-l" need and the leninists get the task of trying to provide for the city without resources other than a bit of food?

Coexistence and compromise should give way to simply staying the fuck away from each other. That would be an improvement. We can talk all we want but all historical attempts have resulted from one ideologically and theoretically coherent tendency having the space to implement their plans. If we tread on each others toes it leads to competition and eventually a fight to the death. If we try and compromise we end up with the split between the Mensheviks and the Bolsheviks.

No, I meant that anarchists could form small, decentralized communities that are self-sufficient, but do not occupy more territory or resources than they need. They would form a network of Bookchin-style municipalities within a larger Socialist state. The point would be to provide a space for anarchist-types to exist without interacting with the necessary hierarchy of the state.
