The general belief by conservatives including Drudge and Bill Cunningham is that the recount effort is an effort to deligitimize the election. All Pro-Trump conservatives in the media have compared this recount with the one in Florida in 2000. The recount began in Florida almost the next day and they STILL didn't make it by the deadline. November the 10th, IIRC. Jill has started the recount efforts like, what? Two days ago?

The supreme court will rule that a recount can not be done by the deadline, which is December 19th (iirc) when the vote gets certified and the Electoral College votes for the president. Stein hates the democrats. Her disliking Trump does not diminish how much this woman despises Hillary. She did the recount for a few reasons. One was to show that the green party received enough votes to qualify them for federal election funding in the next election. Another was to draw attention to the party. This has obviously been successful as they have received more media coverage since the recount effort began than they did the entire campaign. Lastly, the green party has been obsessed with election integrity since 2000. They are heavily grassroots based and actually have it written into their platform that candidates in their party must have grassroots support, or the party will not accept them. Voting integrity and democracy are very important to the greens and that shouldn't be overlooked.

The other thing this election really drove home for the greens was how dead set the establishment was against any sort of third party presence. This was the most anti-establishment election in recent history. This was the best possible conditions for the greens and libertarians to gain ground. it won't come around again and they know it.
