…I'm someone who… has this habit of being a bit…into contemporary film. Sometimes I keep too much track of it and it was only recently that I decided to swear off the Oscars. I definitely feel the blues about the amount of market share that those (((six corporations))) have not just on cinema in the U.S./world, but on media in general.
I've seen 19 movies from this release year so far this year…. and you people may not like this, but Zootopia is my favorite. But I also like and agree with the moral of The Angry Birds Movie.
I also really enjoyed Moana for what it was. The singular devotion to depicting Polynesian culture so well makes me think that it should inspire other singular, distinct cultures to work hard to try and get themselves well-represented to the world (most Disney animated movies starring white characters as of late aren't actually about a distinct heritage. Frozen sure wasn't a tribute to Norway.It would be a crappy tribute, because who would want Norway to be represented by a crappily written emo ice-powers girl and the annoyingness of the two sisters not having had a better communication years before that conflict ended up freezing the whole kingdom?)
My favorite movie of all-time, however is that anime movie AKIRA.
My second favorite movie is the very non-degenerate movie The Iron Giant. I know that they say that "guns kill' in that movie, and that it pokes fun at the Red Scare of the day, but it also had a lot of traditional morality as well.

despite all those nice words… like seriously, 19 movies is less often than once every two weeks. It's the occasional trip to the Redbox or seeing something come to Netflix (which I hardly ever check) or a family member that I'm visiting deciding to take me to a movie.
