Ironical this artist is also the reason why she is so popular. If he didn't make her so cute in her micro-series she would be just another villain henchmen that no one care about ouside the people who read the comic. I mean just look at Old Hob, no one care about him.

Anyway, may as well ask but anyone else think that IDW TMNT has….lost its way? After Shredder fell? It's like the whole thing has lost meaning. And that whole family of immortal gods aren't doing much for me. Bishop is essentially re-doing his same old arc from TMNT 2k3 except instead of kidnapping the turtles he kidnaps the Mutanimals.

Also we haven't seen Karai in AGES. What the hell happened to that one?

I think it's just the curse of Shredder. So much is put on him being the 'ultimate villain' of the series that there's just a void left if he's ever taken out.

And, yeah, the immortal gods thing is the exact kind of thing that always rubs me the wrong way. The combination of seeming to be to powerful and to removed at the start just makes them seem to unrelated. The kind of power that you just don't care about because the only way the writer is going to justify the defeat is some macguffin introduced at some point. And if it comes down to that, it's kind of just wasting time. Of course I more or less stopped reading the things back when that started up so god only knows where the plot is now.

Say what you will about Gargoyles third season, the Quarrymen basically being Gargoyle klansmen was a great idea for an antagonistic force.

If they wanted to have fun with the turtles post shredder the best thing to have happen is some lackey release the mutagen over a wide area and make mutant/human relations a focus. Nothing like some good old fashioned hate crimes and dual sided bigotry to make things more interesting.

Yeah, these magical family of gods feel like they'd be more at home in Thor rather than TMNT. And not too long ago Kitsune lost a battle versus Alopex and how did Kitsune lose? Because Raphael told Alopex a literal friendship motivational speech so that her will was powered up enough to "slit the throat" of a goddess. That was very cringe inducing because IDW TMNT is usually more serious than that. Not to mention, Kitunse is still kicking and will re-show up in the next Universe issue now that the Toad Baron captured Alopex in his party. Makes you wonder what bullshit will be used to let Alopex and Angel escape this encounter with this family of gods.

About your idea of leaking mutagen over a wide area it's a solid concept, and IDW TMNT has the perfect character for it. Old Hob hates humans and would love to probably create a literal city or settlement of mutant animals. Problem with that is that in IDW TMNT the creation of mutants is not easy. It requires an intelligent individual to even make a few successful mutants. Old Hob's early attempts to create a mutant ended with him creating the moronic pigeon mutant.

So unless Hob kidnaps like a legion of scientists with his small group of Mutanimals, that concept you came up with? Can never happen.

Though I'd be much more devious about it and start a whole plot that starts with some missing persons cases for relatives of various doctors around town. Have the turtles try and figure out what's going on and discover Old Hob has been blackmailing the doctors to basically give mutagen based gene therapy treatments. In fact even have the treatments actually work at curing patients of all kind of diseases in a 'to good to be true' manner, making the doctors less suspicious of the true nature and putting up a major red herring. Then in a switch have people start mutating, as the final stage of the treatment is time delayed so by the time it happens with the first patients thousands have been treated.

You could even pass it off after this reveal as 'this medicine can cure anything, but it means becoming a mutant' and reveal this information to the public to gum up the works even further. Some humans just hate mutants because 'muh furries' bullshit, but some of those mutants only did it to cure their sickle cell. And some of those mutants are crazy assholes who are actively hunting out people to turn against their will, while some want nothing more than to get back to life as a normal part of society. Just making the whole situation completely unmanageable from a societal standpoint.

Your idea has a specific problem. Old Hob wants animal mutants to get rid of humanity. That means Hob wants feral animals to mutate. In an old issue Hob outright violently attacked Bebop and Rocksteady because he found out they were originally humans and as such they hold empathy for mankind and won't say….rebel against Shredder who is a human.

Hob's agenda is Feral Animal Mutants Rule Everything. And currently given the treatment his Mutanimals are getting at Bishop's hands? Hob is going to go crazy again like when he originally debuted. Lately he was kind of chill, but now? Expect him to go full speciest bigot.

In fact I could see him tricking some PETA stand-in to work on the science for him under the guise of 'liberating' animals from such centers. What's so bad about Fast Forward and Back to the Sewer? I've never seen them, so I'm curious. I'm watching through the 2003 series now for the first time because I never had the channel it originally aired on. I just finished the second season and I'm really enjoying it. So far it might be my favorite TMNT cartoon because of how faithful it it to the comic (so far at least). If it goes downhill in the last two seasons, then that's a shame.

The writers opted for the cliche of "Male wins a woman over via accepting being pummeled by her" which is bullshit when it works and bullshit still when it doesn't work because Pumyra was not loyal to Lion-O. Lion-O accepts her thrashings and gets rewarded with a betrayal later on because the writers are fucking beta male cucks from the modern generations who have no sense of self-respect when dealing with twats.
