1) They never show horse archery. They show guys carrying swords.
2) Horse archers by themselves are not an effective fighting force. The Roman strategy for Horse archers was to wait for them to run out of arrows, which worked. They have always been used intandem with Heavy cavalry to be effective.

The story is logically incoherent, the writers are lucky that most GoT watchers are of low intelligence.

The only tolerable characters are the ice zombies and they don't even talk.

At least they kind of acknowledged that the Tyrell family weren't as noble as the show tried to make them out to be, but of course they have Cersei say it so the audience would doubt it.

In the books and earlier in the show the idea is that the Tyrells cook up the conflict between Stannis and Renly because even though Stannis has the rightful claim to the throne they think they can control Renly and increase their power using Margaery or that fag.

None of that really comes across in the show and the audience is left with the impression that Stannis is just some bad guy and Olenna and Margaery were selfless innocents.
