The problem with having hope for the referendum is that 50% of the Italian populace have to show up to the voting booth or else 'quorum' is not met and thus it gets sent to parliament for a vote, where it will get rubber stamped faster than you can blink.

To add onto my point, 50% of Italians can never agree to do anything really.

Is it officially happening guys? Can you even imagine what it would be like if all of these votes went our way? Italy beginning to leave the Euro, Austria and France with far-right presidents, I can't even conceptualize it.

I'm a spaghetti user, my family loves to bitch about politicians and corruption but they are all terminally apathetic, a theme in some European countries. I think a lack of optimism is the cancer on Italian politics. They will think nothing will come of their vote anyway so they don't bother voting. It's really frustrating.
