Anyone having a hard time thinking of themselves as socialist? I mean, I'm convinced logically, but I can't take the final plunge and get out of the closet, join a socialist organization, and start agitating.
At first I thought it was because I was uneducated, but I have been self educating for like a year, and my confidence hasn't gone up at all

I feel like it is so difficult to get out of the moderate position and actually take a strong stance on something. Every fiber in my being tells me not to.
I mean, I'll critique capitalism and neoliberalism till the cows come home, but if someone says "so you're a socialist" I'll deny it to hell and back.
It feels much better to be in this position where I can critique everything while not being obligated to take a strong stance on anything

It looks like you have spotlight syndrome, stop caring what others think about you, and start joining a movement that reflects your ideals and goals. No revolution was won through silent opposition.
I spent so much time antagonizing against them, that to join them would feel like a self betrayal of some sorts. However that's not entirely it, I don't find myself completely and clearly adhering to a particular ideology and specially not to any methodology.

But as soon as they repress others rights, through physical action, it becomes a problem.

There has to be policy that promotes the weak without compromising the strong.
it may be needed to suggest 'goals' to companies and let them do the work themselves, but when you force them to do that - that crosses a line .
And another thing, before liberty is obtained, there may need to be short term authority.
I believe in both the left and the right, infact I think we should flexible interchange between them when needed. It's happened in the past, but has never quite been a fundamental goal or tool.
To think one policy is going to continue infallibly is wrong.
That's why I don't understand why people choose left or right. You should choose whatever is required on the circumstances of the nation you live in.
