Basically, every time we show someone an article, they'll tell people we're lying. That it's all just lies. Options?
1. Tell the truth. Tell people they're lying, we're telling the truth. (Conventional, won't work based on what we learned this year.)
2. Show them a bunch more articles that tie in to each other, a whole fleet of articles at a time. Try to show them that there's a world that exists with or without them.
3. Forget about articles entirely. Abstract away from the content of articles, use what we've learned: meme magic. Sway them to our side by humor and hidden logic. Only then will they see the world as we do. Articles we show them will only form a message as far as who's writing them and with what message.

Ok, that's the one. We'll have to ditch articles once they clamp down on press power. This will push us further into meme magic.

And personally, I feel pretty comfortable with that…

This is just 50% of the variable, there must also be a face to face, teeth to teeth fight on this, that is how you get the press to actually develop a bad reputation, they will be paranoid thinking they need to fight an alternative press that is trying to take their place and will commit many mistakes in the process of doing so.

In fact the suggestion that there are organizations plotting to discredit the establishment press creates a "theory of chaos" effect, where the press itself start to talk about such opponents giving importance and in the process they reveal their own issues to a bigger audience.

The fake news they complained about was created by leftists trying to discredit Trump supporters. It is also leftists pushing this fake news narrative. I saw the same push on IRC channels early on.

Their method was to post articles about leftists who created sites that would mimic abc, nbc, fox, etc in style to fool people into linking them from Twitter. Similar to that Emma Watson porn leak article. They would then draw attention to the huge issue of fake news, concern troll, then provide a list of fake news sites. I've seen different lists from the one listed on Washington Post. They mixed actual fake news domains with rightwing and conservative news sites. Seemed like blatant propaganda to me. I didn't think anyone would fall for it at the time, but I suppose liberal news sites are desperate for a narrative of how Hillary lost despite 95% of them endorsing her. They are thirsty and will run anything. Should probably exploit the loosening of their standards to discredit them further.
