What do you say when people go

In order to shut down any attempt of an organized and educated mass movement and persuade us to "work within the system"?

Point them to the 1920's and 30's, when in even America, the working class was militant and a large number of them had a basic understanding of socialism, economics, and a fair number of them read Marx.

Remind them that when things get desperate, people are willing to find alternate solutions, and communism, when it's understood, is a fairly appealing one.

This is why we need a vanguard.

Remind them how many people read Twilight, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Song of Ice and Fire.

Proof people will read long stories about bullshit & nonsense if they feel like it, or if it's a fad, or a trend, or if it's being taught in schools.

The source of illiteracy. The people of the late 19th century were far more literate than the generations between us and them due to the policies of standardized education.

Also, fascism is proof you don't need the populace aware to be active- you just need them panicked & convinced.

Just look how people can be won over with vague promises and big imagery.

Those vile elites want to scuttle you into camps, and sweep you under a rug- I bring you the means to your own salvation, as you'll decide what to do with the work places you occupy, and own the tools of production.=

Less than twelve dozen people think THEY own the land, I say WE own the land, and that they took it from us for a sack of empty promises and a hill of decorative beads.

Alone, we are vulnerable- together we're a giant hand, that reaches for an opportunity, and seizes it for the good of all honest people.

We are the meek, the mild mannered, and so it was written that WE would inherit this earth- not the rapacious tyrants.

Just, shit like that. No need to burden people with complicated theories, just vague generalizations are more than enough to get people moving if they like what they're promised- even better if they get what they're promised.

They're not. They don't need to.

Yes, this means whatever brand of socialism you prefer will have to be forced on them instead of adopted democratically with a standing ovation. That's okay. Because while the average person isn't going to learn about philosophy, marxism, and economics, they will celebrate positive results. When the quality of life increases for everyone, the masses will ignorantly accept whatever-ism.

Yes the average worker in the 19th century was well versed in the leftist theory he read all the time. Are you for real?
Dense af tbh

I will tell them that if the majority of factory workers in the 1800's read marx and knew economics, then our highly literate society with more time off of work can learn it too.

If you can't afford time to read a minimum of basic philosophy and economic theory, then you don't deserve to live in a communist society, much less a democracy.

A general understanding of Marxism isn't even that hard, it's not like we're asking them to read Hegel ffs.

People are less receptive to it now, because of the collapse of the Soviet Union. In the US, at least, the Boomers and older Gen X'ers need to finally die, since they are the currently the base for the coming reactionary revolution.

If we kill everyone, we don't have to worry about implementing socialism

Kill them all, Alien Nuclear Revolution now

I link Das Kapital the mango.

So, what's your birthday limit?
And what about pol spooked teens?

This, except, "even in America" should be replaced with "especially in the US" and "1920's and 30's" should be replaced with "up until the 1980's."

The fact that most people don't understand basic economics and social science is deliberate on the part of the bourgeoisie. It is as if every math class everyone ever had studiously taught that 2 + 2 = 5, of course that is what most people would come to believe. It isn't because they are stupid, it is because their entire lives are lived in a capitalist hegemony.

Well, I would say they're right. Nobody is going to branch out and begin reading theory or listening to the latest quip on the next economic meltdown just because they are told to do so. Even during the Russian Revolution Lenin stifled his speech of references to marxism or socialism because he didn't want to alienate the peasants.

What I'm trying to say is the mass movement we're trying to start isn't going to have a grand understanding of marxism or even socialism, I could bet. I've said it time and time again - revolutions only occur when the average person can not go another day in their present condition. The French revolutionaries weren't beheading the aristocracy because they understood it as a necessary function to prevent them from seizing or being bestowed power again - they did it because they were mad as all hell and directed their anger towards those they felt were responsible.

As was mentioned, however, this is not to say the revolution will be entirely uneducated. Every revolution needs some kind of guidance, and I personally believe that it will be found in the vanguard. To those afraid of the vanguard becoming a "class in itself," I would say the worry is overstated, as the vanguard must always work in the interests of the proletariat in order to maintain their support. Once elements of the vanguard act antithetically to the movement as a whole they are to be ousted.

I don't have a clear-cut system of rule to give you but I'd imagine a system in which the vanguard and the populous discuss issues in a sort of checks and balances system could work out.

One thing that is actually a good idea to push for within the system is making post-secondary education as widespread and available as possible, thereby making professional introductions to socialist philosophy easily available.

No, but the most popular book was Last of the Mohicans. That book is a bit too much for the average reader today.

This was just before radio- literacy was on the rise and it remained one of the only pass times.

Unfortunately, many of these people are currently killing themselves via perscription drug overdoses.

I don't actually advocate violence against old people. I think you need people who are young enough to not be spooked by the fear of the Soviet "menace" to be the majority for more progress to be made. Look at the American elections so far. Support for Hillary and Trump is mostly due to old people. Holla Forums spooked teens are the minority. Alt-right is the new edgy thing to be on the Internet, most of these people just want to offend someone and lash out against the stifling culture of identitatian liberalism.

Upton Sinclair was once within a fart of the governorship of California.

Now we have Schwarzenegger, Reagan, Trump, etc. TV and movie stars have brought the ideology of the right wing to the masses, and the Left has been abandoned as ivory tower intellectuals because they use polysyllables and don't fit as conventiently into a soundbite.

Try explaining it like this image shows.
