The quickest thing you can do is to rig your phone into your clothing with duct tape on the inside and a hole on the outside. Just to be sure, you can wear a distracting shirt to draw eyes away from your shins. Alternatively, you can cut a hole in an old boot and tape the phone's camera over it, making sure that the mic is above the lip and under the pants. Have a practiced pose that will fit in with the situation but also turns the lens towards the speaker.
It might be a stretch, but you can also get a microUSB microphone for your phone to maximize the audio.

I have a 20$ pay-as-you-go phone that can record 720p 56kbps for an hour before the battery dies. If you have one of those usb battery charger packs (you can get them at cvs) you could run it through a hole in your pocket down your pant leg to last another hour or so. Use the largest microSD card you have and do a few test runs beforehand.

Tips for honeypotting:
