Well, they are different. Mestizos are neither native nor European; they're a new hybrid race which still hasn't had time to homogenize into something that can seriously be called its own ethnicity. The reason nationalism is so weak among Latinos is because their nations are too young to produce a deep sense of shared history.

This is also why the few nationalists that do exist among them are generally either native nationalists or white nationalists; the closer to the middle of the mestizo mix someone is the less likely they are to be nationalistic.
