I don't know if it's because I've gotten older but I find myself cringing at IZ's attempts at humor. I loved it as a kid which is making this all the more confusing.

The comics are definitely worse. Also Invader zim works 100 times better in animation. It's very much timing and execution.

It was also much more original at the time. It's black humor mixed in with its timing was one of its first which is now copied all the time. Nevertheless I do think they can make a solid movie out of it.

Also, there was a scene in an early season 1 episode where Zim was shown without his PAK on, and it's canonically established that Irkens can't survive 10 minutes without their PAKs, as confirmed in the unreleased episode, 10 Minutes to Doom, which was originally Jhonen's intention of releasing it as the series finale by just killing Zim off right then and there.

Yeah I think you got a point there. They had some ideas that my or may not have helped, like having Skootch be a permanent character and having him move in with Zim. But that would just be another stupid subservient on top of GIR so I think that would have just been more padding than anything else.
It probably should have gotten some kind of ending proper, like a miniseries\movie, but maybe this'll give him a chance to do so. Worst case scenario this will just be a trashy by the numbers take where they just do a lot of screaming and DOOM and shit.

After it was canceled for trash, I hated nick for years and NEVER watched any show again till they would bring it back.

Sorry for being so late on the response, user. But yes, I have stories. One of which included an episode idea Eric Truehart had that he talked about at one of the panels he hosted. Another has to do with this nice girl my brothers and I met during the "Foodcourtia" lunch special, where she discussed Pixar's originally far darker idea for WALL-E.

She may be the only source I have on this, but apparently, what Pixar originally had in mind for WALL-E was actually quite dark. Like, PG-13 dark. Dark to the point of putting the movie 9 to shame. It was an incredibly ambitious project that was reformatted into what we know it as now, for obvious reasons.

The first half of the movie is relatively the same, WALL-E himself wandering around cleaning up Earth and adding interesting bits of junk to his collection, EVE landing on Earth and scanning for life, WALL-E falling in love with EVE, and the two robots heading off into space. But after that point, things get a LOT different. The whole Buy-and-Large thing was never originally meant to become a major focus in the plot. Instead, WALL-E and EVE are taken to the mothership of a cruel alien race that brutally enslaves robots. The details are hazy to me on whether the mothership takes them to the aliens' homeplanet, or if the mothership is one giant city that the aliens all congregate in. Either way, WALL-E and EVE manage to incite a revolution among the enslaved robots, who, under WALL-E and EVE's leadership, rise up against their alien oppressors and overthrow them.

That's all I can remember at this point. I might be able to remember the aliens' designs if I remember hard enough…
