The "two-party system" has nothing to do with the parties we actually have, but the fact that our election system makes two parties inevitable. I think you've got the right idea about appealing to 3rd party sympathies, because the left is now also pissed off at Clinton and the DNC, and the marginal Trump voters didn't even like Trump, they just hated Hilliary more, so anything that improves the viability of third parties is going to have as good a chance now as ever.

Without replacing everything with a parliamentary system, popular ranked voting would fit the bill of getting rid of the electoral college and removing the spoiler effect. Both will appeal far more than Moore's plan, IF we can communicate the problems that the existing system has from a democratic perspective.

However, if you don't actually want that to happen, well, good news, because the last party that won the presidency did so on the EC. They'll never support abolishing it because questioning the EC is now equivalent to questioning the legitimacy of the ruling party. It'll draw supporters and accomplish jack-diddly-fuck.
