Vectors are like plotting lines on a graph they were used in early games such as tank asteroids and the early star wars arcade games. With vectors in early computers you could draw 3d much much better than with raster - pixel based imaging. Most tv's and even crt computer moniters cant draw vectors easel, you need something like an oscilloscope and littaraly all your doing is moving a beam around where a normal video will just have intencity at a given time and some timing signals and the monitor knows to scan the screen one line at a time.
