The comics were always non-canon(if you can even apply that to Samurai Jack). I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Genndy throws in a nod here or there.

That would be terrible enough, however, the theory that Jack dies and in so doing allows a redeemed Aisha to finish off Aku, would be even worse. Obviously Aisha is a big deal to Genndy he is giving her the most characterization and gave her the hairstyle of his beloved from Symbionic Titan. That would ruin the entire story of Jack, of course, so hopefully nothing like that happens.

I doubted Genndy after the first episode because the pacing was so weird, but now it seems he didn`t lost his way, if the remaining episodes are half as good as this one I am a happy guy

A few things going on here. Notable that both Aku and Jack are having conversations with themselves over the endlessness and futility of their feud, and both have basically given up on active effort and are just going through the motions.

Also, the daughters are essentially competing with Jack at his own game; born, raised and trained with the specific purpose of killing him, and extremely good at it. (Kinda notable that the masks and costumes seem to indicate they're not the first of the Daughters of Aku, and yet it seems implied Jack has never faced them before)

And the total destruction of all of Jack's fancy new gear from his bike to his blade. Heck, they even slashed his beard.

I bet he's spent the last decade noting down any good Samurai Jack ideas he has/samurai movies he wants to rip off, and the miniseries is the best of the lot.

I think that named daughter of Aku's gonna be the last one standing against Jack after he murders the others, he manages to disarm her and put her in a vulnerable position but ultimately spares her after realizing that she's only in the position she's in because of Aku's evil. Like said, having to deal with human opponents fiercely loyal to an evil as big as Aku's would be the perfect catalyst for him to get his sword back and take care of Aku once and for all.

Watch it again. It's black when his hair is away from his beard. When his hair is hanging straight down that's when the color changes, so it's easy to make out what's beard and what's not.

It makes me feel like, where Jack has changed, Aku has too. Aku seems to have lost his spark, or some other element to him. But that's fitting, considering everything. So I feel I can let it slide.

The je ne sais quois is Mako hamming up the accent and to a lesser extent hamming it up in general. The new guy isn't doing a Japanese accent at all. It was noticeable with Iroh but it really sticks out with Aku since that was such a part of his character.

1) The neck is full of thick muscle and fucking bone. Being sharp doesn't help much with bone. You need heft, i.e. mass, which katanas lack.
2) Katanas are very light for a sword and he swung it with a fraction of his strength and without the ability to aim well because of that spin and being in so close.

Human flesh isn't a consistent durability. There's shitloads of fibre to cut through in the muslces. Jack spends the next episode floating down the river, passing out from his wounds, he eventually wakes up, goes into the forest, finds a cave to hide into. the wolf from the previous episode shows up to the cave and the two bond while licking their wounds, while this is going on, aku's daughters are tracking him, and eventually come across a random deer in nature, a buck comes by and they thing it's Aku because of the horns, showing that they're ignorant of nature. Jack has a flashback of his childhood where his family is attacked by a enemy clan, his father takes care of it, saying something along the lines of "I give you a third choice, leave now and that will be the end of it, or fight me and face your destiny." after Jack recovers, he goes into a snowy part of the woods and aku's daughters eventually catch up to him, he quotes his father before the fight. At least 3 of the daughters are killed during this, they eventually go towards a cliff where Jack fucking throws 2 of them off. the last one, Asha, uses her chain to fight Jack, gets outsmarted and is hanging off the cliff by the chain. Jack undoes the chain and lets her fall off, but the cliff crumbles and Jack falls too, ending the episode.

Well, the whole introductory sequence has a cave full of women in those same masks and costumes (though with the horn thingies that resemble Aku's horns, which aren't present on the younger daughters) as the daughters are being born. They mention hoping to get Aku-sempai to pay them attention again, and then the training sequence seems to show they're pretty well prepared. Though guessing the daughters being sent out against Jack are the first ones, but they likely plan to pop out more if the first litter fails.
