Just looking at pic related map, most of Spain was under Moorish control for quite some time. The only areas that weren't touched were in north. (i.e The farther north you go, the more "White" they are)

Doubtful, I've seen many a time genetic data that shows that the north has actually more supposedly NA admixture. I'm not a geneticsfag, but I'll try to get into it.

I've been looking into it long enough to figure out that haplogroups are a meme, a complete mess at best- but I could be wrong about that. I've been told that autosomal DNA is what matters (for genetic proximity?), so have maps in pic related. Google "autosomal dna map" for more on this.

Some say they're swarthier/more similar to semites because they are an older pop like some found in the Levant, and suffered less impact from the IE invasions. There's also Carthage and Phoenician settlers to take into account.

Then you have the fact that they were described as swarthy by the Romans themselves:

- Jordanes, Getica I.xiii, ~551 AD

I doubt the Moor invasion had any noticeable impact on their genepool, there are blond-blue-eyed people in the south and black-haired-brown-eyed people in the north. That's why I don't think it's the right perspective to look at this.
