This is because the left found itself incapable of conning voters into voting 'for their own economic self-interest', which was always a lie because the left was only ever interested in helping the poor only to the extent that the poor will keep the left in power so the elites can amass wealth. The poor didn't get shit but dependency on democrats and empty promises of more gibs on that magical day when the left holds every seat of power.
When most white people wised up to the con, the left shifted to tricking people into voting for the interest of their sexual identity or racial identity or whatever else they can use to divide the population and get a majority vote. So the left started portraying as pure evil the self-sufficient white folk who swore off the democrats forever. They raised a ruckus demonizing white republicans, and creating new rights that all their identity demos were supposed to be fighting for, and voting dem to get passed.

When the gays and the blacks and the hispanics figure out the left's con, best believe the democrats will demonize them as well, and create new categories of bullshit weak people will have to vote dem to realize.

Zizek is the only remotely likeable leftist IMO. He actually considers and accepts right-winger concerns and actually tries to understand what's behind the sudden rise of nationalism, and is a much more sensible guy than 85% of any leftists you'll meet. Good for the occasional read or interview, though not Holla Forums-tier that's for sure.

On one hand the right wing becoming the one that defends workers' right would kill the left from its roots, as it is its main pillar,would undoubtedly end the left movement
On the other hand it would also push for the rise of anarchism and post-left anarchism to emerge as the leading leftists ideology, which would be fantastic since thats what I agree with
