France has been at a critical level of citizen unrest for months now, it’d be nice if a frogfag could come in and contribute to this thread but I will share what I have picked up.

The French are very unhappy about new sweeping labour laws being brought in (or that have already been brought in by now) by the central EU government. The justification for these laws is supposedly that they will tackle unemployment but the citizens claim that they only act to remove rights and securities from workers as well as forcing longer hours.

Unreported by most of the world’s media have been a huge amount of violent protests. The French people vs. the Government essentially (with the EU firmly on the side of the Government, obviously) In the middle of the two are the Police.

The Police probably on an individual level agree with the people and don’t much like going into (and often getting roughed up in) riots to fight against their own interests.

Compound this with supposed shortages in Police numbers, being set in to fight against the rights of your own people and doing so for a Government that wont even employ enough fellow officers to ensure your safety.

Compound this further with the fact the Police are watching this same Government do very little to stop the slaughter of your people by Muslim invaders, the fact that whilst you are being sent to beat up your fellow man you are told to ignore the sea of random 3rd world citizens building shanty towns and shitting and pillaging all over your country.

The French Police at this point have every reason to revolt.

If you take colonists where there is no good landing, there is a bad show; and so where there is nothing to cultivate, and of which to make a farm. But if something is started so that you can get your daily bread as soon as you reach there, it is a great advantage. Coal land is the best thing I know of with which to commence an enterprise.
To return, you have been talked to upon this subject, and told that a speculation is intended by gentlemen, who have an interest in the country, including the coal mines.
