They're not exactly normal machines. They were not created by humans. In the original comics they were created by a god, Primus, although I'm sure that's different in the new comics. And they do experience emotions. So there's no reason why they shouldn't have strong relationships. The sex thing is a little confusing. I don't know why there are male and female Transformers. I think they explained Arcee as getting turned female in some experiment? No idea what they've done with all that since then. As for them having sex, if they can have strong relationships it makes sense that they might want to have those relationships culminate in some pleasurable experience, especially when they see organic creatures like humans doing it. They could alter themselves to have some version of sex. Either get some prosthetic mods put in or do it in a VR simulation or something.

The ONLY thing that can ever be considered sex in the Transformer universe atleast if I recall was Tigertron and Airazors sparks combining to form Tiger hawk in Beast Wars

For the longest time it was canon that transformers had no sex/gender, but just happened to look and act in ways we interpret as masculine. Assuming they could develop romantic feelings, it'd make sense that all Transformers are "gay" in the sense that there's only one gender for them to be attracted to, and they are of it.
Just be glad they weren't in your face about it like the Gems are.

Oh yeah..the IDW verse first goes that there is no female Transformers (even though we saw Elita-1 in Megatron Origins) and Arcee was a male turned female because one mad scientist was curious and in so doing turn Arcee into a raging killhappy psychopath (and guess who complains about that?) and then they did a double turn saying that "Oh, there was once female Transformers but they left on a city bot and now has returned" hence why we got Windblade and Victorion (the less said about them, the better)

Speaking on IDW, is there anything left worth reading from them? I'd say TMNT but they hired a crazy tranny cunt that may or may not drag the whole thing down by making random characters gay.

The weird thing is that it's ALMOST justifiable. ALMOST. The theory runs that the Transformers are called "He" out of convenience, because they don't actually have junk (except Wreck-Gar) and pretty much only experience brotherly and spiritual love. Reproduction is done in the lab/garage. Where the ALMOST comes into play is that there are now plenty of female robots in the comics (two of which are fucking dykes who apparently enjoy physical love, somehow). So it's no longer justifiable. Either there should be no females at all or the MACHINES should know that a bolt needs a nut, not another bolt.

I'm fine with Transformers romance as long as it's marriage between one robot and one shebot as Primus intended.

Its a gimmick of the new show that the Decepticons are based off of animals. Its weird like that.

It'd make plenty of sense if some Transformers seemed female to humans, and are fine with humans considering them as such out of convenience, but the difference is mostly coincidences of voice and body type, and the Transformers themselves don't really see the difference as major as things like alt-mode. (Though some 'males' and 'females' might be attracted to each other, in however way that works, possibly out of opposites attracting)

I think that comes out of how the girl obviously needs to be the smaller, curvier frame compared to the big burly males. Because they're trying to reverse gender stereotyping but too stupid to actually look at the underlying themes or make big changes. (Though they did get some interesting subtext out of Arcee as a motorcycle, especially when Jack takes her home and his mom flips out because she's an emergency room nurse)

They should have a female fighter jet Transformer. Although that'd probably get weird with Starscream. Though the fans would probably love that.

Except G1 Arcee was similar in size to Hot Rod and Springer. Even if she wasn't, it's long been established that Cybertronians make heavy use of mass-displacement tech (like Soundwave and Megatron). She was womanly but always had an assload of stuff sticking off her for when she was the vehicle.

Marvel's Transformers Universe #4 (which I can't find online and don't feel like scanning) says flat out that her name is Arcee because RC stands for Racecar. Now, we can debate the wisdom of this all day long, but if someone knows what else her name could refer to, I'm all ears.

And even then, when you look at then Cybertronians often have only the vaguest humanoid body shape and digitised voices, and sometimes not even that. Ironically, the 'female' Transformers tend to look far more human.
