Thoughts on this book...

thoughts on this book? is it possible to apply this book to modern day USA/Europe to gain class consciousness and ultimately a revolution?

smells like REVISIONISM

but I've never read it

what a big surprise

why did you specify white lol

oh the meme one. I know buckos like to use it to connect leftists to literally satan. not much more than that.

in the US getting support from the white working class is crucial, as most of them are very hostile towards a socialist revolution. of course other races should be included, but with 60% of the population being white, its best if we have their support or at least neutrality

there's no operative difference between "white" working class and the working class of other denominations. Working class is working class, no matter the race, gender, nationality, or what have you.

>>>Holla Forums

No thanks.

He means the white working class is even more indoctrinated by reactionaries than the non whites.

face it, user, like
said the white working class of america are beyond spooked and dont view themselves as part of the class struggle, we need to make them class conscious before we can do anything else. theyre not supporting the left because of dogmatic shills like you

Are you guys talking about people who work for a wage in the US or rust belt/industrial type workers? Because I don't see much point in appealing to the latter since they're highly reactionary and form a tiny minority in the US compared to the service sector.

...

"Lumpen" is not "nigger" for radicals. You sound like that sperg that posts "we can have socialism but only with racial homogeneity" ever week

Fuck off, asshole. I didn't say they were synonymous, did I? I said the book is concerned with how liberal student activists can assert the rights of black lumpens. The fact the category "lumpenproletariat" hurts your tender little heart only shows you lack the balls for real Marxist analysis.

but it's dedicated to Satan… oh noes.
patheos.com/blogs/friendlyatheist/2016/07/19/ben-carson-hillary-clinton-cant-be-president-because-she-worships-lucifer/

and there are soooo many real reasons to distrust Hillary besides her writing about this book in college….

and the white working class has been getting it's ass kicked for the last thirty years while the liberal elite tells them they are muh privileged. No wonder they are drinking themselves to death or just outright anheroing in droves.

Which is Holla Forums tier, because the only one talking about race is you.
Because "fuck off asshole" as soon as you see dissent to your posts shows such fortitude.

I don't know what's happening in this thread.

Having read the book, I would say that could be a useful jumping off point for anyone hoping to get a broader movement going from just a small initial group, not necessarily leftists. It particularly related to low-income urban groups, but I don't see that it's general notions should only apply there.

If you read the gist of the book below, it's pretty to see how all kinds of groups have coalesced around similar tactics even without having read the book.

“Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood.
“Never go outside the expertise of your people.” It results in confusion, fear and retreat. Feeling secure adds to the backbone of anyone.
“Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy.” Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.
“Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.” If the rule is that every letter gets a reply, send 30,000 letters. You can kill them with this because no one can possibly obey all of their own rules.
“Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.
“A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.
“A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” Don’t become old news.
“Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new.
“The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” Imagination and ego can dream up many more consequences than any activist.
"The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition." It is this unceasing pressure that results in the reactions from the opposition that are essential for the success of the campaign.
“If you push a negative hard enough, it will push through and become a positive.” Violence from the other side can win the public to your side because the public sympathizes with the underdog.
“The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.” Never let the enemy score points because you’re caught without a solution to the problem.
“Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions.

But there is. White working class largely supports Trump. BME 'working class' are overwhelmingly Clinton.

I haven't read the book but I call BS on this one. The book might touch on the subject of "black lumpens" but I doubt it is a central theme.

anarkiddies will never understand this

Sargon endorses it so I avoid it.

for someone so good looking he really has an annoying voice

The two are not really related. His voice is more annoying because he's high-strung. If he was a bit calmer he'd be very good to listen to.

I've read it, it's good for clueless organisers who have no idea to get a campaign started but not good for a political cause as it's a strong proponent of pluralism and in the long term it would water down a political movement to meaningless vague bullshit as it clearly seems to have done to the Democratic Party where Obama and Clinton have both read this book in their youth.

He reviewed it hence how I found it, but I recall that he didn't like it because it was too Machiavellian for his liking.

He said it's useful to anybody and recommends people read it.

It wasn't all that impressive, honestly. Just a bunch of shit of how to negotiate and make power plays. I liquify Das Kapital and inject it into my veins every morning, I don't get anything from this book.

I think you're from Holla Forums.

I think its a worthwhile read for anyone looking to accomplish any kind of grassroots social movement. I don't totally agree with all of it and it does have a capitalist/statist twang to it but its still a pretty good and generally useful read.

The latter will in any case have to be concretely connected to the revolutionary bloc.

Remember, the most difficult part of a revolution isn't the seizure/destruction of state power and its repressive counter-parts in the capitalist class–it's the process of constructing socialism. If you don't have the technical ability to maintain production in the transition period then revolutionary sentiment gives way to exhaustion quickly.

I'm more worried about the scores of professionals and technical workers who see little direct incentive in aligning with the greater proletarian class.

suck my white cock then

A rambling amoral ends-justify-the-means bullshit narrative of a manipulative sociopath, sho doesn't believe in anything, not even the ideals of the movements he organized.

Hello fellow Sargonite!

...

The Hungarian political heavyweight said migration to Europe should now be halted, but went on to say: “Brussels does not want to hear the voice of the people”.

He said all recent terror attacks in Europe were linked to migrants and “radical Islam”.

Hungary is one of a small group of Central and Eastern European conservative, overtly Christian states, known as the Visegrad Four, which also includes Slovakia, Poland, and the Czech Republic.

MASS migration has caused terror attacks across Europe and is responsible for the recent bloodbath in Nice where 84 people were slaughtered, according to senior Hungarian politicians.
