The Vietcong

So is the old line from Apocalypse Now true? Did the US bolster up the guerilla forces in indochina? Was this done to combat the japanese after france was kicked out of the region? I don't quite get I'll admit I am very wishy washy about that area before the vietnamese war because for the longest time I was even thinking that the japanese promulgated islam in malaysia and indonesia so they could scare off commies.

Any quick insight or resources you guys could help me with? I'm pretty curious.

If he runs he's a VC. If he stands still he's a well disciplined VC.

I can't believe I have to bump this. It's because we have 5 stickies on the front page.

It's not a very attention grabbing thread, but yes.

...

The Viets only turned to communism because no one else wanted to support their independence from France.
Go read up their declaration of independence, it's almost word for word a copy of the American one.
It's like that French Colonel says in the Redux version.
Tomorrow, they might be communists, but they'll be Vietnamese communists

So I get what the saying is now. It's because of the revolution that the vietnamese were able to draft themselves up like this in an anti-europe sense to take back their lands.

The VC invited all of the rebel leaders to their training camps in China. Then the VC told the French when they would be returning across the border. The French hanged them for rebelling and the communists took over their leadership positions.

fuck those dirty gooks. SOG can take em anytime

sorry, just had to add this one

Who won the war again?

china did. however one must remember we did not fight to win. it was always about red expansion and consolidation the whole time. was not a "winning" war. just moving chess pieces around

and by the way the SOG teams body counts were usualyy 100 or so dead gooks for every one dead SOG member

The international jewish bankers

The US gave them weapons and training to fight the japanese during ww2.
After the defeat of japan, they used those same weapons to overthrow the french in the 50s during their communist revolution.
Same exact shit that went down in afghanistan with al-qaeda and the soviets.

and what will happen in syria?

The us invaded Vietnam to contain nationalism, not communism like you were brainwashed to believe . Ho Chi Minh was a nationalist who adopted socialist policies (sound familiar?) Who recieved aid from commie chinks yet put his people first

Remember, international ZOG doesn't like self sufficiency

The french have a long history of such things. The Jaquerie in the medieval period is a good example. The lords fucked up, there was a revolution, the leader was brought in for peace talks, then they just killed him because peace talks are only for lords and he was a filthy peasant.

It's arguable that's why the french revolution was as …thorough… as it was, centuries later. The french know the french aren't trustworthy. They're used to tricks and retard logic.

Trusting the french is a good way to get killed.

Why should we make a movie about you?

BECAUSE I'M SO FUCKING GOOD, AND THAT AIN'T NO SHIT NEITHER.

Its Full Metal Jacket though

Australia

Yes.
No.

The US let the French forces in Indochina to die in WWII. Purposefully. (Though the local US commander still airdropped some medical support supplies against very clears orders). Mainly because they were sure that Nationalist China would be able to annex it after the war (and we all know how well that went).

They also helped the FLN in Algeria. The same way they helped IRA against the UK and supported Argentina.

The JewSA have vassals not allies.

A lot of Communist movements at the time were Nationalist movements in a sense. One of the biggest reasons why the World Communist Bloc broke down was because of how many different communist countries didn't care about "global proletariat" but freeing their own people.

It's why Vietnam ended up invading Cambodia, and was attacked by China. They were clearly not brothers in arms with other Communists. The same happened in Africa with recently liberated African countries declaring war on each other or breaking down into civil wars.

Communism was a failure from the get go and was replaced almost immediately with Authoritarian-Socialist Nationalism.

any real reason for dropping land mines en masse in Laos?

Burgers had to oil their military machine. So Vietnam was chosen.

It wasn't for any real goal, other than keeping the military going. War is a big business for the US.

After 17 years they got their teeth kicked in and left. But nothing has changed and this ruse just repeats every other decade, as it's happening now.

Fighting the Indian wars was worthwhile … I can't figure out why we fought any of the other ones.

I've posted something similar before but from what I've heard from Viet immigrant friends Vietnam isn't really a communist state. In fact it is very libertarian and laisse faire.

Polite and regretful sage for interesting but irrelevant thread in the face of more pressing discussions.

military industrial complex

hive brainpower might get drained

Yeah, that's part of why the Redux scenes didn't come out for forty years. It was a perfect explanation of

>But you Colonel… you are fighting for the biggest nothing in history.

We were smashing the remains of a white western colony just to give Kissinger a reason to be in power.

And make no mistake, without that fucking superkike the war would have been over before the end of LBJ's term.

*perfect explanation of the geopolitical situation
