indeed. Because paypal takes a cut of donations (but it's instant transfer so it's more convenient than bank e-cheques or bank transfers), we come a bit short of the main goal even when the site says we have.

Therefore, instead of donating by proxy like I was going to, I'm just going to make up for any losses at the end to either take us up to $500 or to smooth us off to a round figure.

Basically, with my contribution at the end, we're already over a third of the way there, within the first hour.

I'm sure I'm being extremely unrealistic here, but suppose the donations amount to way more than 500. Shall we sponsor an episode for every full 500 and give what's left as a regular donation?

I've had an update from [email protected]/* */ which provides a bit more info. When I donate the funds on the 28th, I should be able to do it under the name of "Holla Forums", or failing that, go by the name of something like Mr "lefty pol". Hopefully this not only reassures those whom have contributed that their money has been donated, but also will reduce confusion in future.

If I were to put an actual name in there, and the fact it was a community behind the donation were somehow forgotten in the months, then that'd be very disappointing.

Now, another important aspect of this email is that it tells us the next available slot for sponsorship is likely in January 2017. This is a little disappointing, but a few individuals seem to have sponsored (both publicly and anonymously) in the time that this crowdfund has been active. Regardless, I'm sure that as the majority of us are communists, we've gained the virtue of patience over the years.

Finally, it also confirms that our community is going to get vocal recognition by Mr Wolff, which is I think what most of us wanted.

So in summation, the donation will be clearly displayed on the site, the next sponsorship slot is on January 2017, and we should be getting vocal recognition as Holla Forums from RDW.

Right mates, that e-cheque came through today as expected. I've covered the cost of paypal charges personally and brought us up to our actual donation count of $512. Will be sending it off tomorrow.
