How safe is
encrypted.google.com/
DDG is alright but Holla Forums told me it's shit and localized german search suggestions of startpage.com are shit

There is no reason not to use DDG, except it isn't open source. Searx is.

jewgle anything is a fucking botnet. DDG is still a fucking botnet but less so depending on what you search.

SSL added and removed here ;¬)

...

This'll just put a crosshair on your head and make them pay more attention to what you're doing.

...

just fucking use searx

It's botnet.
Use one of the searx instances available:
github.com/asciimoo/searx/wiki/Searx-instances
If you want a specific search engine added to your result go in the preferences.

But this post has nothing about ddg, just former business ventures. I'm a free software and privacy advocate who's done shady shit in the past, too.

There was a thread on here a while ago, where the guy who purportedly made the "avoid ddg" infographic offhandedly mentioned he regretted it

woooooooooow. not only will i get tracked by jewgle, but also by all the other search engines.
but it is open sores, so it must be good XDDD

what?
how do you think that fucking works?

I don't know if this is bait or if you're dense.
When you make a request in searx it's the searx server that makes request to the multiple search engines.
Searx is basically a proxy search engine.
The only thing that google and other search engine gets is the IP of the searx server and not your IP or browser fingerprint.

kys

...

Is the search language set to the same in both those screenshots? And the date?

They're not very convincing.

block quick to { }

I think it is the same date because of the way it was edited for the window borders. You can see where the window manager overlapped things and where it was combined as multiple photos for the same image.

Don't use Google.
security.stackexchange.com/questions/32367/what-is-the-difference-between-https-google-com-and-https-encrypted-google-c/32374#32374

DDG is fine.
github.com/privacytoolsIO/privacytools.io/issues/84

Searx is best.

(level of unnecessary paranoia) = (technical ignorance) * (general stupidity)

This crap is getting out of hand. There are more than enough real things to be wary of without going full retard. Get a grip. Stop listening to Agent Fud and get a basic knowledge of best practices for security and privacy. Otherwise you might as well just dig a hole and stay in it.
