God damn it I have experienced similar deep levels of betrayal from my own parents. I have been rejected, shunned, and mistreated so much. You can personal reinforcement and validation for your opinions by spreading those same opinions onto other people. This is how it works for all things. It may even be a deep biological feedback mechanism designed to compel humans to spread their ideas, much like they are compelled to spread their genes.
