This is an issue but people are barking up the wrong tree about it. The people who do this don't understand the concept of transgenderism or see trans-women as women. They see trans-women as degenerate men. It's not a matter of hatred of trans people but hatred of men defying gender roles. It's a problem but nothing will change if nobody recognizes the thought process behind the actions and calls it "transmisogyny." Even though my point here doesn't really apply (you're right), most people I've seen doing advocacy about the issue misunderstand it at a fundamental level.

First of all, it's far easier to pass as a transman, because most people will just think you're a very effeminate guy. When transmen don't pass, most people see them as women defying their gender role. Defying gender roles has paradoxically become what a lot of people think of as women's gender roles, and on top of that women are not seen as acceptable targets of violence in the way that men are.

I forget who it was, but somebody said that people are the most enthusiastic to hear about socialism in the South when he went there to talk about it. The south is the most impoverished part of america, the people there have a history of rebellion, they dont go to college, they are the most effected by capitalism, they love guns, they are willing to fight for their beliefs.

I used to care about this. I don't any more. Ultimately this community is so small and they demand their issues eat up such disproportionate amounts of time and resources in contrast to their numbers that I couldn't give a shit now.
