Secure investments when SHTF

What is a sound thing to invest in atm, as a back-up for when SHTF? I see that silver prices is kind of low, when compared to the last crisis in 2011. It has dropped from over 40$/Kg to 16.5$/Kg today.

I am tempted to buy 500 Canadian Leaf silver coins, because it looks cool and that it may be worth more than digits in the bank. Is this just Alex Jones hype? Should i invest in a water filter too at the same time?

Silver is sold over spot price and often bought for nearly half of its value by the (((merchants))). Will the demand be high in a period of economic decline? If you had 20.000$, what would've you invested in?

A SHTF scenario is not fun times for you to profiteer from. Who knows how deep the crash could go, there'd be no economy left.

And yeah, silver's good. Bullets too get some of those.

Depends how bad the proverbial shit has hit the fan. When it's surviving day to day, meal to meal, precious metals are worth shit - cigarette lighters, bottles of alcohol, canned food, medicines, ammunition and toilet paper will be some of the most valuable things you can have stocked up in a cupboard somewhere.

Precious metals have their value in certain situations, but hypothetically, if a nuclear war did break out, what would you rather have - 19 ounces of gold, or $20k worth of guns, ammo, gas masks, ect.
If you insisted, you could maybe spend $5k-10k on gold, but personally I'd rather have things that will either save or prolong my life.

It really depends how large the proverbial shit is that we are talking about here. If Fallout 3 levels then yeah, metals won't be worth shit, but if we are talking "great depression part 2" then metals might land you a confy spot while everyone else is on the bread line. I say put your economies in metals but be preppared for mad max.

Honestly you gold is better just because it's extremely limited in supply especially in north America most gold is across the ocean and if shit goes really south that gold u buy will shoot through the roof cuz well be cut off from gold exchange abroad also China and Canada dumped a bunch of gold so it's at a current low and starting to recover. Another good option is cheap commodities like porn, most porn is on computers but lack of electricity makes porn unavailable to the average Joe so print that kinky shit, silver is okay and probably will get you full price if it's in a currency like coins it all depends how bad things get though. Bullets are honestly a sound investment even right now because ammo prices haven't fallen since the early 90s but reselling it may be difficult so don't do it in large quantities and if your truly ballsy just get as many credit cards as possible and pull as much cash out as you can and use that to buy gold and hope a collapse happens within 90 days

gold silver ect < blocks of lead

what is the magic use of toilet paper?
what it does that washing with water can't do?
availability? I'd rather carry availability of food

If shit really does hit the fan, your "secure investments" will paint a target on your head.
You wanna be safe? Build a bomb shelter.
You want safe? AK-47 automatic assault rifle.

...

Invest in rape and murder, its value will skyrocket after the collapse

Rare Pepes

precious metals, ammo, water, food, gasoline, toilet paper

Batteries, bullets, rare pepes, lighters, vaporwave vinyls
Toilet paper, first aid stuffs, strong alcohol.

this comrade right here gets it.

I got pulled down the doom porn hole for a while so I've thought this through. To start you must realize that there is no single SHTF scenario. You need tiered and hedged plans for each level of disaster.

Level 1. Medium to long term unemployment due to economic downturn.
Prep: Family and friend network, low debt, high savings. Try to have 1-2 years of living expenses saved.

Level 2: Severe economic downturn coupled with societal instability.
Prep: Family and friend network with contacts in the country. Weapons and ammo on hand. 1-2 years of food. 10-20k worth of precious metals to hedge against hyper inflation.

Level 3: Severe societal instability or War/
Prep: Family and friends network with multiple well armed contacts. Plan to move from current location to safe place in country. 1-2 years of food and 10-20k worth of barter material (alchohol, drugs, ammo, but not precious metals as they're not that useful without larger economy)

Notice anything similar about all of these? Community networks are your biggest asset. Network network network. Make sure your local tribal ties are strong. Bunkers are deathtraps. A well organized community is your salvation.

brass, lots of brass

Who is going to pay you for your metals, user? Are you going to go around with a knife and cut fractions of micrograms to pay for your basic shit? Who is going to buy your gold if you have just several kilograms tops, I assume, and not tons upon tons? Most of materials' worth today is virtual, be it papers or Internet stocks. It simply doesn't exist. You buy some gold and you get a paper that you bought x amount of gold. The paper you can trade for other stuff, of course. The problem is when you have physical gold. Same with diamonds. Who is going to buy diamonds on non industrial scale? No one buys ten diamonds and no one will buy 5 kilograms of gold.

It's from a guy who made it through the Bosnian war who made a list of things that he considered essential for when shtf. Toilet paper was a luxury people were willing to trade essentials for.

naturalnews.com/040249_Bosnia_preppers_survival_strategies.html

food
weapons
luxuries (cigs, booze, porn, etc)
NOT useless pieces of metal

house rigged with live grenades and sawn-off shotguns
other than that? you aint safe

about the only use for gold will be filling a sock with gold coins to use as a flail.

As if the toughest guy on the block won't take that from you within a week after taking your faggot zucchini garden.

We must secure the existence of our gardens and a future for our zucchinis.

It sounds like you want to die in SHTF.

well, I guess my larping ought to be wrong when someone with actual experience says it.
I still find it strange, but humans do take things for granted, so that's that

Heil Hydroponics

This is completely worthless, you are not going to be getting supplies from outside air dropped.

You need a protected water source and food for long enough until you can start gathering your own. Most people will be dead within 2 months.

If it really hits the fan?
Toilet paper, cigarette lighters, cosmetics, chocolate, antibiotics (not the ones that go toxic when out-of-date) and hard liquor.
Good luck getting a bargain on shit-roll when everyone's starving and you only have explosive diarrhea and 10lbs of shiny metal.

You shoot him if he tries.

Soon we'd discover why mudslimes don't shake hands with their left hand. Left hand is based poop wiper.

What was that shit about 90% of the US being dead in the first year if the power goes off? Think it was some CIA shit or something.

Canned goods, farming supplies, ammunition, survival training, body conditioning, camo tents.

Like he said in there, they did make use of precious metals but he traded all of them for ammunition.

If you read the whole article, the MREs were never enough and they resorted to eating rats and pigeons.

You know what is really important.

I don't know where I saved the screencap, and I'm not going to archive the original source because I'm a lazy bastard, but a survivor of the war in Bosnia said "Arms, ammunition, candles, lighters, antibiotics, gasoline, batteries and food. We fought for these things like animals. "

Everyone resorts to cannibalism 2 weeks after supermarket deliveries end unless they have Supermale Vitality™ - Alex Jonestein has the documents.

People really need to learn what medicinal herbs/trees ect are in their areas you don't want to be the ass that dies from a simple flu.

I posted it here but no archive, my bad

I fucked that up royally, but the story was posted anyway. Polite sage for my sheer autism.

1. food, water and commodities that can be traded(lighters, toilet paper, medicine)
2. lead
3. silver, gold. This is for when things normalize. You can't eat it and purchasing things with it can be tricky since stores generally don't take it. And even if they did, they will be empty due to on the spot logistic.

i'm thinking about investing in copper, since it's incredibly usefull and constantly rising in price.

Medium-term:
If the asteroid mining talk ever pans out (I'm sure the kikes will try to kill us all off first) then there are single rocks containing more gold and platinum ever mined in human history.
Needless to say baser metals will be worth about as much as a truck load of dead rats in a tampon factory.
Assuming it's not already going on - if you think the space race ended 47 years ago with Apollo 11 then you probably haven't thought about it.

I read a book by a guy that survived a crash in Argentina. He said the most valuable trading item you can have is pocket lighters. They're tiny, have practically infinite shelf life, and if the power is out then everything reverts back to fire: cooking, cleaning, medical sanitization (and possibly wound-disinfecting), basic hygiene, etc.

Everyone will want fire. Not many people will know how to make it. You can buy 10,000 Zippos for a couple hundred bucks and corner a necessary market in your neighborhood.

dude what?
Silver is USD $17.66 per troy ounce
Gold is USD $1263 per troy ounce
32.15 troy ounces in a kilogram

While selling you will take less than spot price because the (((merchant))) has to make shekels, it shouldn't be half. If you have well recognized government bullion, it should be less than 10% below spot.

yep

No. When the happening happens, women will be cheaper than the magazine.

I agree here

I don't think there will be a full on societal collapse, but an economic one. That's why I have precious metals, and guns/ammo. I can defend myself, but there will still be enough functioning in society to ride out the problems.

If society breaks down, best thing to do is get away from that society.

Lead and water.

OP here, i was thinking to buy like 500 silver coins to begin with. They are worth about 5 dollars each. When the economy starts to shake, people will naturally buy silver, then i sell it and buy supplies.

I got the idea today when i tried to withdraw money. I couldnt because it was a limit. Imagine when there is cash runs and the currency are going crazy.

Farm land. Ammunition.

...

...

We could have that as our little secret, eh, dubsanon?
But you had to go blabbing.
I guess we'll see who first develops Inter-Continental Ballistic Missiles among the ruins, eh?
Slow and steady wins the race, asshole, don't you forget it.

I'm from Europe, therefore guns and ammo is out of the question atm, and I wont for shit stock up with a tank of gasoline with the current gas prices.

Then there is candles, lighters, batteries and canned food left.I wasn't exactly preparing for WW3, but an economic crash like 2011.

I know many will lose faith in the economy if either presidential candidate is elected, and they will look for alternatives. Maybe i should wait until the contractor of the Trump-wall is hired and invest in them?

Cigarettes. Tons of them, to trade for good shit.

I'd recommend holding Bitcoin, but that project is turning into utter shit.

If the Internet remains active, the other cryptos are definitely worth looking into.

Buy the essentials people have mentioned. However, if you own more than you can transport at once you will have to hide or defend it. Stocking up on thousands of rounds of ammo might not be a great idea if you're planning to go innawoods. (Also please don't hoard ammo if we're nowhere near SHTF. Some people actually want to use it.)
Precious metals, in my mind, are only useful when you are well-prepared with the above and want to protect your rainy day fund from inflation or (((bankers))) seizing when sub-SHTF emergency procedures come up (like wartime laws).

Depends on the type of SHTF situation. 20k isn't much to do anything with so if you want to preserve that, then gold. If you're young and don't mind some risk then yeah, get those Maple Leafs.

hey pajeet

hey charls

Two Words: Durable Goods.

During the crisis in Greece a few years ago people were loading up on washers, dryers, fridges, portable generators, tires, bicycles, car parts etc. These are things that people are always going to demand. Not only do they retain value, they aren't suspicious to the authorities the way a stash of gold or cash would be.
They also have the added advantage of being heavy (i.e. fridges), which makes them much harder to steal/loot. Even if power-grids never come back on, electricity we always be sought-after (look at hospitals and modern medical infrastructure). And make-shift power sources and grids are more than possible.

If your putting it into long-term storage, make sure it's adequately sealed and protected against moisture damage.

No.

If no SHTF happens
They are shit coins for collecting and hoarding because they develop "milk spot" marks after a while. All this means is that if you decide to sell in the future people will pay less for them because they are no longer Brilliant Uncirculated. So when you sell you will get near spot max.

If SHTF happens'
You are paying an unnecessary premium. Silver will lose all it's numismatic value so you will get "spot" price for them max. The added premium is a waste of money.

Just buy generics user. Silver is silver. If you insist on purchasing government coins with a premium buy American Eagles because they are highly recognizable and don't have that horrible milk spotting issue like the Maple Leafs.

Yes, silver is a great choice especially in that quantity you said. Don't pay attention to the price prediction of this article but look at his list of ways silver has been manipulated to the artificially low price its at now.
roadtoroota.com/public/998.cfm

You want to invest in antibiotics, cigarettes, cheap booze, soap, generic medical supplies, and ammo.

silverdoctors.com/gold/gold-news/one-year-in-hellsurviving-a-full-shtf-collapse-in-bosnia/

Lighters, bullets, food, water, KI, antibiotics

...

read through this, faggot. you don't want precious metals because no one will give a shit about your shinies.

pic related. stock up on antibiotics, hygiene items, and food that keeps, since you can't collect guns and ammo.

Metals, for when civilization recovers and needs a currency.
Weapons, ammunition, for obvious reasons
USABLE LAND
KNOWLEDGE AND PRACTICAL SKILLS
Your basic nu-male can't change his own oil, much less build a shelter. Depending on how hard shit hits the fan we may have to start from the ground up all over again.

Nigger was the birth of Jesus just "Alex Jones Hyps?" (wise men brought Jesus gold)

I'd invest in any company with a leading role in producing VR porn gadgets. This shit's going to blow up in the coming years.

Silver and gold are not investments. They are value storage.

no security when we run things goy

Your body. If you aren't lifting heavy weights, you are a useless limp noodle.

If you life enough weights you become huge and no one wants to fight you even though you can barely do shit if you aren't actually a fighter.

Pic related. In the short term, gold and silver are over rated, people are far more likely to barter with shit they can actually use. Toilet paper, lighters, batteries, booze, cigarettes, antibiotics/meds and food are solid bets, bullets are still best though.

vid related.

Pic I meant to attach.

They also brought him Frankincense and Murr and no one uses that shit anymore.

This, in addition to a muscular physique, tattoos will complement your appearance and make you look more intimidating and macho. It's the number one reason why guys get tattoos in the first place.

Get two years worth of food storage and some barrels for water storage.

I would try to hold 25% of wealth in liquid assets (gold silver) 25% in tradiable consumables (ammo, cigarettes, tobacco, gasoline) 25% in cash (because not all shtf senarios will cash be obsolete and its really really useful early on even if it ends up that way) and the last 25% in industrial shit ppl wont think of (like tungsten or mercury)

Guns, ammo, booze, smokes, medicine, replenishable food, clean water source, friends, secure shelter, skills, and raw materials. These will get you through, laid, and let you barter for better things.

Excellent bait

Worst advice ever. Hiding cash and gold is easy. Good luck hiding a refrigerator. Are you going to carry a washing machine to the grocery store to trade for a loaf of bread? If you are driven from your home, then you will have to leave all of your "savings" behind for the bad guys.

...

Take your own advice, you illiterate retard.

This is probably where most people will fuck up.

Just owning enough space to store a year of food + water is something most people just aren't going to have, or won't spend the money on. 1 year of MREs will cost at least about $1000+, and Timmy wants to spend $300 on an optic for his $2000 custom AR-15.

All I know for absolute certain is this OP: Lone wolves NEVER survive.

I'm of the opinion bugging in is far better than bugging out. Like said there are different tiers of happening. Great Depression is a happening and could be very real. Civil unrest, War, etc…all of them call for something somewhat different.

What is important in nearly all of them like he said is community / neighborhood / family / groups.

Groups survive, lone wolves die. Period. I don't care how badass you think you are. You can't be everything you need at once - not without cannibalizing other people's shit all the time and that will only last so long if at all.

As for investment that you can actually turn back into fiat in relatively short order if you choose to: Gold and Silver always going to have value and will be top for this. Period. Has been this way for hundreds of years and won't stop now. Guns too for the most part don't really depreciate all that much or often, provided you don't use them, but they're harder to turn because of the fees involved with selling / FFL shipping / etc.

A lot of stuff will have value barter-wise. But hanging on to all that stuff requires infrastructure and security. And moreover some of it is perishable like Antibiotics or similar.

A good thing to focus on too is a useful skill set. Community can get you pretty far based on economics of scale (cheaper to buy in bulk and share as a community) and sheer numbers (less chance of getting killed), but you should really build up a useful skill set.
A bunker might be awesome but if you're an autist who won't even look someone in the eye no one will trust you.
A couple good places to start are to know how to cook a wide variety of foods from staple ingredients like beans and rice, build and maintain some sort of shelter, how to handle and maintain a weapon and how to make booze or other household items that can be used for bartering. If you get a good community going where there's a decent spread of skilled people you have a better chance than a nigger rape gang that will die off in 3 months.

Lone wolfs never survive huh? Guess we'll just have to play dead then.

Gold and silver are a store of value in a shtf scenario. It's to be held and hidden until things normalise and can be converted back into currency when needed. You shouldn't be trading it at all unless you have no other choice. Canned foods, lighters, batteries, matches, tarps, coffee, tobacco…these are trade goods.

Also protip: When another group engages another group in fighting, watch. Then eat the leftovers of both of them.

Also faggot , when your girlfriend or group member manlets are talking to you and a lonewolf shoots them with a silenced weapon during your night patrol. Show us BABBYS first crying jags for 1000 alex.

Muh Groups

The best thing to invest in is yourself.

Talk to people. NIGGER YOU'VE NEVER BEEN TO PRISON HAVE YOU? You fucking niggers on here are some top teal fagos in war time. WE WUZ survivors and sheit.

buy a soda cap factory

Depends what you mean by that. If you just mean a economic depression then gold, silver and some cryptocurrencies. If you mean WW3 then nevermind because governments will be so totalitarian that any and all wealth will be confiscated and the economy will be fully centralised. If you mean nuclear war or other enormous population reducing and anarchy inducing event then there will be a surplus of goods out there to be had, you'll just need the weapons to defend yourself.

In all scenarios it's a good idea to have a months worth of food in your house. These will also help you ride out smaller happenings such as a temporary failure of the financial system or a contagious disease epidemic. Food is also an inflation hedge and unlike money in the bank it isn't at risk.

I remember not long ago someone posted a PDF that went over what would be necessary to have. Some objects would be on you at all times (watch, multitool, cellphone…) and others in a backpack (first aid kit, cellphone solar charger…). And I remember it adviced having a silver bullion, the problem I saw at the time is that it doesn't sound too easy to trade it unless you trade it whole.

Does anyone have that PDF BTW? I forgot to save it.

Thanks lad was a close call, almost had to adapt to a worldview requiring me to make friends

You deserve your fate.

silver kills bacteria though, very useful when clean drinking water is scarce

The best investment anyone can have a group of friends to share with. The individual in a SHTF scenario dies easily. So all you neets out there should probably start forming communities as groups in an anarchic situation are far more likely to survive than individuals.

...

Just buy a water filter - I know a guy…

Not the guy you're responding to, but he said he traded all his gold away for ammunition.

So what? Gold is useful because it's a relatively stable currency. Currency.

oh, you stopped reading right there? you'd probably stop living that quick too in a real scenario.

although, I suppose you could keep a bunch of shit like that to clean out a local merchant's stock that can't resist your pretty coins.

I suppose gold is as valuable as ever but you need to protect it. As long as you have enough guns to keep you safe you can trade your shiny metal to anything.

If you read the whole thread, the general consensus is that precious metals are only useful in an economic slump or a low level happening. Only after stocking up on weapons, ammo, batteries, medicine, food, water and the like should you consider precious metals.
You can't eat gold and you can't shoot someone with it. In a shtf scenario, I'd rather spend $100 on canned food beforehand than have to trade $100 worth of gold for a single can of food after the fact.

Yeah if your a poorfag.

You need to learn some reading comprehension buddy, a few grammar lessons wouldn't go astray either.

I don't disagree.

That said, anyone who can get gold during a major happening will be filthy rich afterwards (as long as you can stay alive).

what are some good weapons for a no guns country?

Ammunition and things used to make ammunition.

I'd like to learn to make traditional bows or even better, crossbows. Sure it's probably illegal in Europe but big brother doesn't have to know.

I completely agree. If the situation can be rectified and a return to a semblance of safe society is likely, then that's when precious metals will have their true value.

You need to learn how to take a joke better than you take a dick.

Search for PVC bow on youtube.

...

You handle the bantz like a nigger.

I think that is what the true prepers preach is gold and silver might be useful in certain situations but overall you have it so you are rich after SHTF subsides. Most likely any type of non liquid capital will be worthless after said events.

Do you even know how IDs work? How do niggers even find this site?

...

Put it this way. If you are a prepper would you rather spend $1300 on a piece of gold or $1300 on supplies listed here?

Silver and gold is for after the disaster and would only be traded in rare circumstances such as "oh shit I have no food and I am starving, better sell grammas old necklace" type scenarios. You don't buy gold now to be able to trade when society collapses, some of you people have no chance.

...

Yes, build up to living on 5000 calories a day and lose all your gains in a week when SHTF and you can no longer eat like a king.

It's possible to get insanely strong without putting on too much mass. You'll still need calories, but not nearly as much, and your trained nervous system, tendon strength and muscle memory will ensure permanent strength gains as opposed to size which will vanish if you can't sustain it.

And if you pay a degenerate to write your diary for you on your body, you're a faggot and not supposed to survive SHTF.

OP if you really want to know what to get in a SHTF situation, take it from a Bosnian dude who survived in complete anarchy for a long time. Pic related.

Gold
Silver
Ammo
Weapons
Preserved food
As many lighters as humanly possible, cigs too (used mostly for trade)
Shit tons of batteries (also mostly for trade)
Coffee (use for trade) and caffeine pills (use for personal alertness)
As much hygiene and health related stuff as you can get your hands on (antibiotics, sterilizing agents, bandages, medicine, etc.)

No.

Don't "suppose". Just admit that you were completely wrong about everything.

Somewhat related question. Why is there so much shilling for silver lately? It used to be that all the Alex Jones' and Ron Paul's were shilling for gold. I think it was only a few years ago. Is it just the silver prices being lower?

Also:

Precious metals is only worthwhile if you already have everything stockpiled. It's for securing ~33% of your leftover bank. So unless you're above middle class and have some solid income I'd focus more on personal essentials for a years worth, then commodities that's easily traded, transported, and stored. Cigarettes, water cleaners, vodka, reusable female hygiene products, ammunition, meal replacement shake powders (can be made at home)

That's not even worth anything now, retard.
