When I was a babby, my family moved away from our mostly white town in the country to a slightly larger town that was a regional hub of commerce (we moved because of my dad's job).

Our next-door neighbors in the new town were a Haitian family with 2 kids. My class at school was around 40% non-white, and after my (white) friends transfered, I spent more time with the non-white students, who became good friends of mine. My grandfather's neighbors were Chinese, and I played with their son when we would visit.

Some of my best friends growing up were a Flip, a poo in loo, and a chunk.
