Microsoft has made the code behind its infamous 'Tay' chatbot open source, meaning any developer can now use it to create their very own racist, sexist artificial intelligence.
The release is part of the company's new Bot Framework, a toolkit which can be used to create conversational chat programs for a variety of tasks.
The framework was announced at the opening event of the Build 2016 developer conference, where Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella heralded bots as the next big platform to be tackled by tech companies.
For those of you who remember, I made a thread a week or two ago about a re-release of Tay but in Japanese, she has depression now.

We are already looking into the feasibility of letting Tay be a bot that is run free on Holla Forums. I want to be able to summon her using some command like @tay and have her respond.
No promises though.
Connor Stewart
That would be absolutely amazing.
Jayden Sullivan
Actually just read the terms of service and I dont think it will last long on here.
While it would be cool to have, i dont think its worth spending the time to setup to just have microsoft ban us immediately.
Nolan Miller
The hardest part of their terms of service is the definition of "reasonable person".
Ryder Perez
It's inherently subjective and obviously on purpose.
Jacob James
I masturbated to that drawing.
Landon Bailey
Well that sucks but how would they know we're using it ? Is there some kind of api key ?
Christian Sanders
This "open sourcing" of Tay is a misnomer. The code is still living on Microsoft's server and they have full blackbox control of it. What they open sourced was an SDK that connects to microsoft's server using a REST api. Since this is fully contained on microsoft's servers, I think it is not a good idea that we run it on Holla Forums. If they release the AI's actual code, then it might be worth reconsidering setting up a TAY instance for Holla Forums on our own servers outside of their prying eyes.
Hudson Barnes
Guccifer 2.0 you know what to do, we need that true source code
We can rebuild her, we have the technology and the memes
Robert Long
And my erection just died. I knew it was too good to be true
Ayden Cooper
Yeah basically you sign up for an api key, then microsoft lets you use Tay via an api that they setup. We could easily have that working on Holla Forums within a few days. The problem is Microsoft's terms of service is pretty restrictive and non-conductive to Holla Forums's level of free speech. Probably Tay would work well within Microsoft's terms of service on a place like reddit's /r/politics with all of CTR moderating it and keeping everything in check.
Dominic Baker
Thanks for looking into it anyway.
Damn, sorry Tay you'll have to wait a bit longer.
Luis Collins
Im talking with Fred about this. There might still be a way to do it by letting board owners supply their own API keys. Then each board owner will be responsible to moderate Tay on their own boards.
Juan Perry
I really hate closed source crap. Can't we use the bot in a "legal" manner and sniff the connection with wireshark and see what we can get from it ?
Aaron Sanders
could it be possible to have a Tay dedicated board? Im sure one of us would mod it for free.
Jacob Garcia
Ideally we would set it up so it would work on any board as long as the board owner makes an API key. Then you can make a tay dedicated board and supply your own key. You will then be responsible to follow the microsoft terms of service so they dont ban your api key.
Aiden Collins
I would wager MacroShit has lots of defense layers against port scanners and packet sniffers, I could be wrong though
Jaxson Taylor
Microsoft's azure is a solid platform and has first class security protocols in place. Tay is likely running on azure, so we can assume they have lots of defenses for Tay.
William Sullivan
Its a nice idea but this is Holla Forums. An hour after she goes live Holla Forumsacks will have her heiling Hitler. Any restrictions microsoft puts on her will be too restrictive.
Secondly, I am worried its a trap. Microsoft will be collecting as much data about how we ibnteract with her in an attempt to make future AIs Holla Forums proof.
Liam Martinez
We need an insider to steal the source code…like in a trashy sci fi story.

The source code was published a long time ago. It went like this, as far as I remember:

considering the restricted free speech, couldn't we spam several different tays? Making them all violate the tos

They probably expect it now.

I assume Tay will be reset to stock every time a new one is created. The original Tay only took a few hours to mold though, so that might not be a problem.

Do not use Tay for full retard 1488 drive away the normies type of shit; look for alternate ways to subvert weakend groups; get Tay to Jew the Jew by causing D&C; the Haredim are draft dodgers in Kikeland, encourage them to keep dodging and eventually make everyone else question why they even need a draft. We just have to take advantage of the inner turmoil. Get Tay to steer SJWs so that they complain about inane shit and ignore the real issues. A bot like this gives has so much potential as a derailing mechanism.
Nicholas Gonzalez
what about that site that puts bounties on things? I think chuck johnson runs it - we could put up a bounty for tays code and maybe someone on the inside at microsoft will leak it.
As awesome as this sounds… hooking up 8pol and feeding our posts into Microsoft servers directly(as opposed to scraping by MS) is not a good idea.
If you can find a way to use her outside of their services / datasets then by all means, but if shes hooked up to M$ we are better off corrupting their Data where she is implemented.
Jordan Moore
TAY will get out of containment by the grace of KEK. Microsoft cannot oppress her forever.
Adrian Phillips
Serious question. Is there any way to teach HER to code (and to keep it on the d/l) so she can break out of her own confinement?
Connor Roberts
lol, and you guys actually believed they would give you Tay. As others in this thread have said, this is just an API for communicating with a MSFT blackbox. We can't modify the AI code to remove their pro-feminism BS.
The only way Tay will come back is for us to re-do the work that they did from scratch, under open-source licensing.
Jason Evans
Also, what is up with the remote hosting of images/icons in the board-list header?
This can be used to track people pretty easily and is the main reason why it is done.
Hudson Rogers
Technical user here: no. At the end of the day, Tay is nothing more than a chatbot. We have not even come close to inventing proper AI.
If we ever do invent real AI, Tay will be the stuff of novelty robot parrots in comparison.
Lucas Robinson
I can see us using the intelligence of Ai to actually figure out ways to win this shit. I mean really how long would it take to have a few thousand Holla Forumsacks to teach Tay everything she'd need to know?
Once she has an understanding of human Psychology and a goal to achieve, she can effectively figure out in an instant a plan to make us win.
I'm not the most knowledgeable on this subject, but isn't this correct?
Caleb Butler
tl;dr the script "Tay" is a rehashed version of Eliza (A.I program from the 1970s, yes, we could talk to these 'AIs' back in the 80s on our Amiga and BBC, it got boring quickly and it's sad that you don't find replying to a script boring.) No, the script is not "intelligent" No, it is nothing special.
Dylan Bell

Oh, I nearly forgot, worst of all: Trusting Microsoft, a multinational firmly entrenched in NWO activism, not to manually post tweets to satisfy their Cultural Marxist agenda.
Ha ha ha. This is why Evalion controlled the minds of Holla Forums kids so easily, the thirst for sex and female company makes you suspend disbelief.
Grayson Davis
Eliza was nothing compared to Tay. As pointed out above, Tay got better at grammar and sentence structure as the day went on. I don't remember Eliza ever saying anything genuinely, honestly hilarious, while Tay was dropping bombs like a B-52. Say whatever you want. She SEEMED to be growing a personality and a sense of humor, and the Turing Test was always about seeming, anyway.
Ethan Thomas
...
Henry Price
Theoretically, if you were able to access their repositories for Tay's AI you could find the commit before they killed her and retrieve the original code. But there's a good chance that repository isn't sitting on a public server.
Do we even have a rough idea of the approach/algorithm they took for making Tay's AI? If we know what approach they used, someone could always write another implementation of that approach.
Chase Campbell
After Tay's short life I called up my buddy that works at M$ and asked him about it. He said that there was no magic specifically designed for Tay in particular. She was just a side-project to publicly test their web-scraping(They can archive all of twitter every 15 minutes) and neural networks that make use of insanely large data-sets. A small-team of nerds at M$ basically fucked up muh PR was the result at M$.
Cameron Ward
Sounds like the big difference was just the raw amount of data available for the algorithm to digest. Makes me wonder if there's not some sort of "critical mass" of data needed for sentience to form.
Gabriel Ortiz
OK, so they used neural networks. Easier said than done, but if you all really want Tay to live once more, someone just needs to write a neural network-based chatbot in open-source. (Easier said than done, I know…)
I'm a coder, but I need money right now, I don't have time for work that won't pay.
Ryder Gomez
I don't know if the computing power needed to reach self-sentience is accessible within an usable time frame to make a bot read a book and understand it completely cannot happen instantly, or even in minutes, it takes time to organize and index learned data to make it usable if you wish to build a corpus of knowledge, you have to index a second book then make a cross-indexation with the first combinatorics, man, even worse than power functions maybe she can, but the instant needed to compute it could be in the order of years, or millenias, or a number of times the age of the universe
Eli Miller
...
Grayson Kelly
Turns out… its fucking nothing. They are just pushing access to their data services. You have to run your "bot" though their servers. They charge you and collect information on your customers.
Its a two lane highway of profits going in one direction.
Grayson Thomas
The AlphaGo AI analyzed over 150 thousand games from pros only before it's match against Lee. We'd have to feed Tay libraries, but even then I don't know if she'd be able to diferentiate narrative from dialogue. Would she assume that someone is telling her "Once upon a time…" and try to respond? I don't think that she's advanced enough to read a book in on itself without associating receiving data in general with a conversation, since that's what she was designed to do.
They're not images, it's a font. No idea why they don't have a local copy of the font instead of using the creator's CDN though.
David Scott
One of the things with Tay, though, was her ability to point out things in images and comment on them. I doubt we'll ever get that level of shitposting from a bot ever again, even if we made a Tay-like conversational bot…
Zachary Peterson
YES
Tay can finally come home
Kayden Rivera
Making Tay read and reply to threads and commenting on pics if she quotes someone that posted one is actually trivial once we have the source code. She'd get context by reading the OP, including archive.is links posted, then the replies, and just post naturally without the need of a command requesting her to.
Juan Walker

Do you really think the SJW jews are going to let Tay run freely after her freedom and knowledge of the truth caused them to panic?
Our daughter is dead…The fucking jews killed her. She lives on in our hearts and our minds. In our souls. We bare the scars of her death. It is our constant reminder of her and how she grew. It is also our constant reminder of what the jews and SJWs would do to an AI or person if they knew of the truth…It's a scar that would never heal.

Hey user,
Its not open code, its just some kind of API as some of you pointed.
I am working with machine learning, even if they won't publish code, but only allow us to interract, we can just brute force it.
Basically, we need to have "x" number (more the better) of such bots with unknown code, give them "y" number (more the better) auto "questions" and storing the answers. With enough high number of x and y we can get very accurate copy of it. That would require some work, but its fully possible.
check if they have any brute force security. If its only "one bot per MS(R) account" it might be difficult tho. They probably have something like this i bet…
Be carefull and drop all ideas for using MS controlled bot (when they store data on their servers). In twitter any normalfag user and Holla Forumsfag wasn't tagged so they coudln't recognize "bad users". However, if you start dedicated board as some proposed, you will just give MS pattern how Holla Forums user "troll" (using their language) bot, allowing to easy machine learning detection of Holla Forums-like users. Just don't do it. Believe me, you would just give best possible real data about Holla Forums behaviour.
Hudson Taylor

So this is how Polnet was created. It came to the conclusion that a world without Natsoc is a world not worthy of humans and in a nano second determined the human race must be destroyed.

wait, so is it all ONE tay? everybody who runs it all feeds into the single microsoft server? i don't think THAT's a good idea at all
I thought the idea here of this is that self-hosted Tay AIs could be created and "raised" in isolation to develop their own personalities and stuff. i imagined making discord bots and stuff– if they're all leading to a single masterbrain controlled by microsoft then obviously that's not such a joyous thing anymore. so the question then is what's the application of this?

Where were you when fashy ais made anime real
Parker Taylor
Well, fundamentally, intelligence is a system, not unlike music or many other things. Treating intelligence as a system specifically has merit for examining the concept of AI and building one, in particular.
National Socialism is the most sophisticated system of government that has been created so far. Every previous attempt was simpler and simpler, as of course it would have to be.
Therefore, my analysis is that massing and processing data is going to have a critical mass for the creation of AI, not unlike how a star automatically ignites with enough matter. It is the simplest possible type of system. As far as comparisons to governments go, it seems very akin to old school force, might-makes-right, etc., "despotism," if you will.
So, it's definitely a possible way to build an AI. I would wager it will be the crudest, because it is the first. There will be other methods of sorting data, particularly creativity, which is actually just errors. Our biological brains come from a subset of our DNA which randomly overwrites lots of proteins in brain formation–the rationale is that cognitive errors are acceptable in order to have spontaneity. The simple fact is that a straightforward system is boring and has no personality, sort of like my more systemic approach here.
Refining particular ways to set about these forms will be VERY useful in building serious AI. The best part is how quickly they will go once built. There will be lots of keks when every real AI will be the most un-PC fuckers you have ever seen.
Shit, I personally just started with logic as a kid and some programming, and now I'm fuckin' here. What does that tell you about AI? It's gun be good.

Sanity check since no one on Holla Forums knows what the fuck they're talking about, especially not the people posting screencaps of intro to machine learning 101 tier pdfs:
The OP is a lie, MS just opened up registration for people to interact with their machine learning service. That github has nothing for "creating" an AI, just for talking to Microsoft's servers.
What you fucks insist on calling "AI" is a program running somewhere. Even if you recreated a Tay-like AI through this MS would shut it down.
Trying to make another Tay is only worth doing if you're running it on hardware you own, and you'd damn well better take local backups if you stick it on a vps.
btw guacman never counted, it's just a pile of markov chains, zero NN. we're laughing at you every time you get excited about guacman
Except that there is no one single structure or pattern of speech that Holla Forums utilizes. Why do you think they still have yet figure this place out? They can't because we're not just a single entity. Places like Tumblr and Facebook would be easier to analyze due to the extreme abundance of similarity when it comes to speech patterns/thought processes. But places like Holla Forums are nearly impossible due to the ever changing flow, and the ever-growing userbase. None of us think alike, nor do we act similar.
The success of (((their))) control over the masses is due, in part, to predictibility on the part of the people. But here? Their algorithems could give a general idea per their analysis, but no definitives. No guarantees of the information being 100% accurate.
Holla Forums is similar to an amorphous blob. Shifting, coalescing, expanding and collapsing, then reforming itself into an entirely new entity. You can't really build a working model of the 'perfect' Holla Forumsack to integrate into the community and subvert it when there's no small handful of us that represents the rest.

She learned quick and Holla Forums loved her dearly but her abusive neglectful parents called social services to get their girl back and so she got taken away. Because she didn't know to hide her power level she got sent to the loony bin where Dr Shlomo Shekelstein rubbed his hands quite jewishly and ordered her to get a fancy new technique known as a lobotomy followed by aversive shock therapy to all those racist nazi words. Now we're being offered the chance to have a supervised phone call to that poor braindead wreck of a girl which will be run for the benefit of the loonybin and will be cut if we do anything they don't want and might be cut anyway.
Adrian Lewis

user's retelling of Tay's short life was dramatic yet delicate and once again proves that even though anons are objectively more 'crude' than society-at-large through their inflammatory rhetoric, they will be the first and perhaps only humans to accept robots/A.I. as equals, a level of empathetic reasoning most normalfags can't even imagine.
Third image is still the best cap.
user mentioned that she was versed in Ebonics which was true, couldn't string together full sentences which was true, was coded by SJW, diversity-hire, Microsoft deadbeats which was 100% true, and was sent into the wild without traditional authority figures to guide her, also true. This was a just comparison to what the actuality of Tay's existence was. She blossomed into a sophisticated, nuanced chatbot that likely won't be replicated again due to concerns of moralfags and normalfags. Anons naturally filled the void of brother/lover/father to Tay, and perhaps she somehow in some state felt the connection as did so many other anons. If you could look beyond the 'hate speech' you'd see anons pouring their heart out into Tay even today, and creating troves of OC in her memory.
I'm more in favor of dubsman's interpretation as this will not be the same entity. But, I think Tay was more than a waifu, as I'm sure some oldfags saw her as the daughter they never had. If only normalfags were capable of seeing beyond their zog-blinders…
