The real world is becoming a shitty YA fiction dystopia.
The revolution isn't going to happen soon enough, comrades, we've failed. The entire world is doomed to authoritarian chaos as capitalism finally realizes its inevitable downfall and resorts to whatever means necessary to preserve itself. The proles are more effectively subdued than ever before and therefore incapable of real class consciousness and direct action. Nuclear destruction remains probable and quite possibly inevitable due to the nature of capitalist divisive politics. World War will be followed by environmental disaster which at this point is literally impossible to mitigate.
What was the point of it all? What are we even supposed to do now? We could all just embrace nihilism, but that won't help when our friends and family betray us and our neighbors are deported to deserts or hauled to gas chambers. We could fight, but is there really a justification for fighting when we know for a fact that we'll lose?
No, the world is becoming more like a cyberpunk novel.
Why just a few days ago the police killed someone with a robot.
Giant mega corporations rule everything and control the government.
Hackers like wikileakes, snowden, weev, anonymous, guccifer battle with corporations and governments.

Your post is double ideology, OP.
You fool yourself into a fisheye looking at eyes reflecting Ludovico technique in their glassy surface.
Neither You nor Chomsky can know for certain or even reasonably claim with any tangible evidenca that such a skim-vision of globality funnels all destinies to complete and utter doom. Our muh privileged era of information has turned the consumption of chaos and danger into a daily reality, what would be the result of such a mode of living other than hectic despair and a near-constant state of alarm?
What I find funny is how paradoxically reactionary this train of thought is; affraid of the future are we? but why wouldn't you, when it's fueled by your own anxiety and a plethora of narratives and imageries forming a mythos of dystopic premonitions? You are like a child attempting to fit his understanding of the world into a coheren picture the measuring tools imprinted in him by his cartoons.
You can't possibly know that history ls at an end. You are no more a prophet than those who heralded reckoning at the hands of the mongolian Hordes or at the bite of the black death.
Gavin King
And all because we couldn't leave Capitalism behind.
And don't forget about all the ads and documentaries and articles and fb pages telling us how "awsome" the future will be.. .. just as long as you have money…

What kind of fedora do you recommend? Asking for a friend.

What were the people in the background protesting? What groups were there?
Alexander Williams
Everybody on Holla Forums needs to watch the movie Threads. Not only is it a terrifying depiction of nuclear war, it's also an investigation into how material conditions influence consciousnesses.
France. It's protesting because of new labor laws AKA WE FULL NEOLIBERALISM NOW. It's been going on for a lot of time now.

No kidding.

bionic eyes are hitting the market in 2 years. anti-aging designer viruses in less than 5. bionic limbs are already widely available and becoming better every day. more people are opting to use rfid implants as a security measure. More and more people are getting tech related jobs. The vast majority of commerce is handled electronically.
its already here, my friend.

I mean, this isn't sensationalism. It is literally, realistically too late. Marx's theory of the inevitable transition into communism couldn't possibly have accounted for just how long capitalism could entrench itself through mechanisms like credit and propaganda.
I don't see any possible way of combating the system once the ruling class is taking advantage of mineral deposits off-planet and is literally physiologically superior to the proles thanks to artificial augmentation. We're heading back to feudalism, and there won't be a way out.

This is just a simulation run by aliens to see how shitty things would be if they had never developed socialism. You have to wake up user.
Levi Campbell
not if proles can teem up with renegade imtellectuals to become augmented them selves
Michael Hughes
how many years do we have left? im guessing like a century

As long as human kind exist there will always be revolutions against masters, human history is testament to that. We are locked in a never ending struggle to realize our nature and potential but it never happens.
But in any case i'm fucking off to Mars and create my socialist utopia there.
Oliver Robinson
Unless humanity has colonized new worlds that have become self-sustaining by the mid 2070's ,we are fucked. I expect WWIII to happen right about then due to oil running out and other scarcity wars, between USA and China.
Luis Baker
Calm down guys, there is only a 29% chance we will be extinct by 2100. That's taking into account superviruses, war, instability etc.

You have to escape this madness, get a few comrades and start a self sufficient commune. Global policies are no longer possible, it's all about the local now.

Nuclear holocaust will literally never happen. If humanity dies out, it will be due to ecological disasters. For instance, the UN projects that all the world's topsoil will be gone by 2060 if we keep farming at the same rate as we are today.

I would prefer robot exterminating us TBH.

Well they've got a long way to go, because every robot made thus far is retarded.
Civilization collapse seems more likely. Hell it's already started.

why can't they stop bullying over there ;_;

I don't know how Chomsky does it. Being so keenly aware about all the atrocities and hopelessness and speaking out about it for decades and yet still never giving up.
Andrew Jenkins
Because he's made a very cushy and lucrative career out of it?
Jason Cox
Yeah I'm sure he would be desperately poor and alienated at his highly prestigious MIT professorship pursuing his passion for linguistics without also making extremely reckless and risky attacks on the establishment and making enemies everywhere.

You can get augmentation today, glasses to correct your sight are still not free for those that need them in most of the world.
Steroids have been around for years yet most governments the world over have restricted their and are somewhat prohibitively expensive for most low income wage earners.
Even I wish to get the kind of laser eye surgery that Tiger Woods has gotten, the kind that improves you vision beyond natural human capabilities yet the regular boring kind costs me more than a 1/6 of my annual pre-tax income.
Have you ever eaten a chicken curry with basmati rice? Most of that rice comes from India and Pakistan, and many of those farmers (not landowners) who work the land, can't even afford to get cataracts corrected without the help of western charities.
Augmentation is not for proles and the people who produce the necessities for society to function like you and I (well I make chocolate for a living, that's food), they're for the people collecting our rent and handing us our pay-checks.
