If we stop existing, then why not kill ourselves now? Seems like itd be just a dream. On the flip side, not existing anymore would be one of the best case scenarios considering that you wouldnt go to hell or god forbid quantum immortality.
The purpose of living organisms is to avoid death. Hence why we have a biological fear of it.
The cessation of the self is an incomprehensible state. You couldn't grasp it much like you can't look inside your own eyeballs.
Michael Perez
I can, watch.
Isaac Butler
There is a reason for it though right? Or is life just an abomination of natural processes?
Connor Russell
The purpose of living organisms is to produce more living organisms. Take the example of female octopuses that starve to death guarding their young. That imperative takes precedence over self preservation. That's why it feels like shit to be lonely too. Blame your genes for trying to force you to find a mate.
Levi Diaz
Self-sacrifice is the exception, not the rule tho.
Jordan Adams
Where does the fist go when you open your hand?

Prove to me there is a single thing that can actually disappear.
Everything just changes states.
Dissolves, resolves, forms, falls apart… but never disappears.
The core, the actual self, will end up embodied in something else again.
Daniel Wood
You can see into your own eyeballs by shining a really bright light into the eyes and then what will happen is you see the back of your eye in the light. I have seen what it looks like this way.

Explicit immortality doesn't exist, so self-preservation instinct will be ultimately futile in the end. As I have said the drive to reproduce takes precedence over survival.

What happens to a dance when it ends?
Jaxson Barnes
You cease to exist, no afterlife this is it. The only way you can sort of continue to live is if you have children.
So if no afterlife why not just kill yourself now you say.
The reason is because this is your one chance to affect and experience the universe. So don't waste it.
As reliable as the images you get if you close your eyes as strongly as possible.
Connor Murphy
We don't die, right befor were about to die nigger Rick pops up with his portal gun and saves them. The dead body you see is nothing more than a time ghost which is left behind when you pluck someone out of their timeline
Easton Morris
The people who experience them describe them as being more real than reality itself. There's really no way to easily explain them away at this point considering how many competing theories there are that fit only a small part of the phenomenon as a whole.
Easton Martinez
Nobody knows and anyone who says they do is an idiot. Just enjoy life
Brody Clark
I imagine being dead is like what it was like before you were born.
Jaxson Ortiz
Hey you.
What happens if you lose your limbs?
What about a chunk your brain or your spine?
Are you any less you?
If you truly have become the compost.
Then what happens if I grow melons out of that compost and eat those melons.
Are you now me?
Think about it.
Adam Williams
What of you actually exists at all? …and what is then that somehow stops existing? Do you think you're the body? The body doesn't stop existing. It changes forms. If you are the body, someone can eat your body, and you become that someone… but you're obviously not the body. Are you then your thoughts? Think a though and let it go. Where is it now? What about when you lose your memories. What if you suddenly forget everything, but are you not still you, just with amnesia now? You're not your thoughts. You're not your body. What is that death can influence? The body can die. Your mind can die… but you know that you are not your body and you are not your mind. So who the fuck are you?
Get enlightened faggot, there's no excuse anymore for this "you stop existing" bullshit you guys keep spewing.
Oliver Rogers
You know what. The bacteria outnumber the human cells 10 to 1 in our body I think. Maybe it was 11 to 1. I forget exactly.
What's more? We share thoughts with them even though they aren't part of our cells.
Guys, I am really scared of hell because God hates the shit out of me because I watch cartoons among other things that are related to them.
I have always wanted to kill myself but I fear I would be tortured painfully forever, FOR ALL THE ETERNITY.
Adrian Diaz
That's a fucking Sin m8
Jose Thompson
I have researched that stuff and more extensively. I know exactly what is going on and I can tell you details of their reports can line up with objective facts and phenomena and occurrences in our world. When you die your mind just becomes untangled from the body. The body has a unique way of producing more desires and emotions, whereas one of these disembodied ghosts just runs itself on the emotional fuel it already has, until it dissipates. It's also possible to untangle the mental body from the pure awareness. Our nature is in three parts.
I know. I figured it all out systematically. It's not an easy thing to teach as you require to prepare yourself in certain way and obtain certain experiences and to be familiar with a huge amount of research and reports. However, I fucking know.
Alexander Morales
No you're not.
I am I.
I you ever say "I am my" then that you are not.
I am my mind. I am my body. I am my shit.
etc.
Whatever is yours, belongs to you; the real you.
…and that real you evidently is not the things you possess.
Bro you're already in the plane of suffering and need to escape the cycle of reincarnation and suffering.
You gonna need to mahasamadhi. That is the way to kill yourself and not suffer any longer.
Jaxson King
The root energy sourcing your consciousness recedes from the formation/pattern taken in the physical brain and returns to The Source. Your fundamental energy cannot be destroyed, what with the 1st law of thermodynamics and all that. Yes, for those who are saved and re-in-carn-ated (re put into a form) it will be remember as a nightmare if ever at all. Buddhism takes this stance, see parinirvana.
Motherfucking gassho you enlightened motherfuckers you!
Only the physical, and eventually the physical universe will burn itself out back into a state of pure energy.
Seriously.
You can see how flat they are, even from straight on.
We always were each other, user. There is only one singular multiverse. It's the ego separation feeling of distinctness that is a lie.
I'm unconvinced or you are explaining yourself poorly. I believe in my divine individuality. I am sure we can merge and change identities but I am not an identity. Identities are what I'm identified with in a given moment.
Can't. I tor post. However tfw_god_exists.gif would do.
It really is amazing how all the qualities of our real self are all the qualities of god the all.
…but there is a special mystery I have to work out more clearly that concerns me with how I can experience a slice or fragment of reality. I'm fragmented somehow, my own unique piece of the divine. I'm not sure this is even the right words to use but I'm trying to at least gesture at something here. I seem to be the divinity but in a lesser degree, somehow not fully realized, at a lower vibration or something. Some kind of fog is still over me. I don't know how to proceed.
Jackson Turner
Questions like these i like to ask sometimes.
Eli Hill
There are waves. There is the ocean. Most of us are born and live our entire lives thinking we are simply an individual wave. What is a wave without the ocean? You are the ocean. Not the little-self, the ego, but the True Self. All eight limbs of /yoga/.
Sorry but it doesn't stop there. I am not the ocean. I am a something that can be a single particle of the ocean, or that entire ocean at once, and yet never really was the ocean at all. I can be infinitely small and infinitely large. Whoever has felt themselves to be the ocean and then stopped there thinking that is who they are has I believe not made it the whole way to the truth. I am in the world and yet I am not.
The ocean is accessible to me. It is there in the totality of the manifestation. Yet I can divorce myself from the ocean. I can withdraw entirely from it.
Caleb Allen
Put another way.
If I am not my body and mind.
How am I anymore the body and mind of another?
The mystery of being is probably explained by the law of polarity.
Jayden Parker
LOL Here we are, two waves crashing together. Not one and the same ocean for you? How many oceans do you think there are? Again, there is only one singular multiverse. Waves are ocean are waves are ocean. Energy is matter is energy is matter. All the parts come together in the whole, interdependent but never, ever independent. Duality. Ego. The totality of the manifestation is the ocean. The all encompassing ocean of every universe together in the 'singular ultimate multiverse. There is no higher, thus ultimate. By means of ego identification, yes. I can still differentiate this from that as well. It doesn't mean squat, though, as even these "separate" objects one cognizes are still waves of the same ocean.
Well, yeah, subjective experiences can't be objectively measured
Not an argument.

The soul returns to the center energy where you are either judged or sent back into the universe. Or mabye you just wakeup in another reality like some matrix shit who really knows no one knows except the people who were legally dead for several minutes. why don't you go read some stories. Kinda cool how two different people on opposite sides of the globe who don't even speak the same language can have such a similiar experience

You are your brain,if your brain stops working correctly you are still you but a damaged not fully functional you how is probably old and about to die.
There is no after life stop being a pussy and deal with reality. Have a large family and instill your values and thats the part of you that will live when you are dead.
We're in the state we are in because we don't want to be in the infinite state we want to be finite beings.Finite beings means that we die. Therefore the illusion of death. Also the illusion of others to keep one self preoccupied for all of time.
Kevin Edwards
It doesn't matter what you or I believe it matters what happens. Therefore this conversation is mute. It might be pretty cool to not exist. In my opinion you can't have nonexistent without existence. Look at sleep. You go to sleep but you always wake up.
Landon Butler
gassho mon ami.
Cooper Nguyen
you idiots. the "you" which doesn't exist in any time but the Planck moment is an illusion arising from the exact molecular architecture of your brain/nervous system. This is why twins are so alike and yet different and why we all experience what we perceive to be reality in very similar ways and create very similar myths. it's all mechanical. change the structure, change the personality. Phineas Gage et al. lobotomies, brain trauma etc. when you die, synapses stop firing and you are in an off state. If zapped soon enough you can be turned back on but if there was enough cell death in the brain you will not function as you previously did and this includes ability to comprehend and interact with the physical world outside your body. ie; your personality or "spirit" will be different. Fuck, humans are so dumb with all that spiritual bullshit and having so inflated an ego that you have to believe you will always exist…

I'd rather not exist. But I know that is foolish. In the spirit of argument explain to me how you came into existence.

my parents fucked. don't they teach you kids anything in school anymore? but which was the "real me"? the one at 5yo? 25yo? today??? Yes.

Jaxon Diaz
Why does the universe exist?
Isaiah White
Life is the gestalt, user, not the individual planck moments. Next you'll be telling me movies aren't real because they're made of up frames. here's the big hint: which came first, energy or matter?
Charles Gonzalez
It just does is the best answer anyone can give you. Humans haven't even left the planet yet and you want us to have the answer to what ever question you ask, stop being a retarded child.
That is the only answer anyone could give. But you are also a part of this universe. I don't understand how you can't see this.
Noah Morris
It certainly does seem that this being your only life is the most plausible explanation for what happens when you die, especially since your consciousness is regulated by the firing of synapses. But when you consider that fact that your brain is constantly changing, things get more confusing, especially since your brain is entirely different than the one you had 7 years ago. Consider the fact that you don't even have full control over your brain, and it really makes you start to question if you're nothing more than a brain.
Even when someone's brain gets divided, they still have full awareness of both sections of the brain.
Jaxon Morales
Already answered by another user: Before the physical universe, there was only potential energy, waiting to birth this universe. But of course such a state is boring, and we can't interact with each other if we don't exist, so we made existence. In order to evolve thinking speaking intelligent manifestations we had to fine tune the universe to the current parameters (survival of the most well adapted, usually strong and aggressive) but we left enough open with epigenetics to have some wiggle room. So, in other words, God got bored and made stuff so He could talk to Himself as us. If it sounds insane, well, we're collectively the only single intelligence in existence as we are the creator of existence itself. Things get weird, post-Human Instrumentality Project.
Michael Parker
I agree. But many people see themselves as not part of the animal kingdom.
Everything is so new relatively speaking and knowledge is so biased decentralized and or nonexistent that it's impossible to know what our true past is. We are apes is the best fit but it's a pretty big stretch considering they can't speak or build anything while we send men to the moon.
Also they say modern man is no older than 200k years but I believe we are much older and that we have risen and fallen several times at least technologically speaking. Something unknown keeps resetting us to a primitive state.
People get sad and have a funeral and bury you or some shit.
Adrian Young
Yes I'm trying to get user to think however no IDs make this a confusing mess. Have you guys ever heard of Azathoth the god who when woke blinks every one out of existence? Or the CHIM in skyrim. Or the Godhead in this current reality. Its fascinating seeing so many different authors all using a very similar mythos.
everyone everywhere is, myself included. I will not allow hatred and boogeymen keep me from learning tho
Caleb Howard
Fuck you queer faggots. If you haven't yet realized the jews print everyone's money, and as a result have infinite resource to subvert & control nations, you need to die too. You're part of the problem.
Isaac Foster
Gotta try anyway.
The material world is still here, and still relevant. The synagogue of satan doesn't want anyone making any actual spiritual progress, enlightenment, etc. It means a lack of control, for them.
we must be talking of different things. I'm speaking of split brain syndrome where the left hand will unbutton a shirt the right hand buttoned, etc…
Gavin Sanchez
Too bad I guess. It never ceases to amuse me when shit like this is considered a rebuttal to a statement of fact. They always resort to idiocy & namecalling, because it's all they can do. They know they're in the wrong. They've run out of logical counter-arguments.
Facts are provable. Your idiotic conspiracy theories regarding (((them))) is ALWAYS disproved. Yet like any infowars watching, sister fucking inbred, you cling to lies and hate and stupidity as mean to explain why you are so poor and downtrodden. It's not (you) its (((them)))
Camden Hughes
When you die you will become compost, that is all.
you are finally on your way to knowing the mind of gawd
Adrian Russell
Prove that it doesn't exist. Once you've successfully done so then we can proceed. Until then? TURNED MYSELF INTO A NIGGER, MORTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'M NIGGER RICK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Parker Harris
Always.
You soul is the energy controlling/directing your body. Your body is not 100% autonomous, "you" have control of "it" and that "you" that controls "it" is non-physical energy. This is what is meant by the word "soul".
it's as unhealthy to fear death as it is to run towards it just let life happen user, your worries will disappear eventaully
Xavier Moore
Yeah, guess we got mixed up there. Just think it's pretty interesting how someone is conscious of both sides even when it gets cut in half. It might be the brain stem connecting both sides, but most nerve signals travel down the stem, not upwards.
Nicholas Bell
Since information cannot be directly shared between the two hemispheres, split-brain patients display unusual behaviours, particularly concerning speech and object recognition. For instance, when blindfolded a split-brain patient may not be able to name a familiar object that is held in the left hand, because information for the sense of touch is relayed from the left side of the body to the right hemisphere, which typically has a weak language centre. Without an intact corpus callosum, a person cannot access verbal information in the left hemisphere as long as the object remains in the left hand. For the same reason, the patient may have difficulty using the left hand to execute verbal commands; the inability to respond to commands with motor activity is a form of apraxia.
Of course, if there were a "soul" outside the matter then cross communication would not require hard-wiring between the lobes. Or its all just a mystery, yadda yadda…
Adrian Long
Totally debunked, you guys saw it here first!
Adam Nelson
again with this "soul"… ”That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence”
wen you die a jew judges whether or not you followed judes law or was bad. if you was bad then you get burnt up but its forever burnt up and you always burn and it never stops so it hurts for ever. if you were good according to the judes law then you get to go to a good place and be happy and everything is good and you feel good and its like that for ever.
Ryan Cox
Brain states correlate to mental states, but that's not the same thing as proving that consciousness originates in the brain.
Wyatt Stewart
If CRISPR can help me switch off that gene, I'll be set for life Fuck other people except (You), user :^)
Logan Evans
Your right life has no meaning. Its a game. So git gud faggot.
Noah Edwards
I think OP abandoned this thread a long time ago.
Christian Reyes
True, the communication between each hemisphere has been severed. So obviously, it's going to make it harder for the individual to process information.
You mention how people with a split brain are unable to respond to stimuli on a different side of a brain. However, there seems to be new evidence that contradicts this claim. In fact, split brain patients arguably were able to communicate what they saw just as well as intact brain patients.
If we were truly nothing than our brains, then splitting the brain would supposedly create two new individuals, but new evidence contradicts there being two new individuals. And since we only control 10% of our brains, this weeds out the theory that we are our brains, and that our core selves may be something else.
Of course, this doesn't really prove that souls may be the answer to why we're here, but it certainly contradicts the theory that we're, at the core, our brains.
I heard a line in a movie the other day and it stuck with me. Growing old is scary and it takes courage to do it. I like that, well said.
Justin Foster
I have a theory based on the paradox of observation.
When you first began observing as a being, all the time before you existed happened instantly. When you sleep, it's the same idea: without perception of time, it does not exist until one begins perceiving it again.
Death is a paradox, like an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object. You cease observation, and when this occurs, an infinite amount of time must pass, until at some point one begins perceiving it again. I consider the moment of death, from the observers perspective, to be a gateway to another existence.
There cannot be infinite non-observation, it's simply illogical, a paradox.
Kayden Phillips
you'll probably either go to hell or just become nothingness, as for myself i will be reincarnated into my glorious ethnostate and re live my childhood the way i ought to have, having friends, being a child, enjoying nature, being happy, enjoying a peaceful coexistance with a girl who i will live out the rest of my life with, and repeating that cycle of peaceful and intelligent bliss until the end of time, hail victory
Hunter Thompson
That, and that infinite possibilities can occur when you add infinity into the equation. "You" didn't exist for eternity, and "you" will cease to exist for eternity. Since the universe began existing from nothing, and will likely exist again from nothing, why couldn't the same happen for you? Just something to ponder over.
Landon Brown
The 'ME' is completely helpless.
Matthew Russell
But you know, neural impulses through corpus callosum aren't the only way of communication between brain's hemispheres. The most broadband one, but not the only one. There are neurohormones that can do to through the brain's blood vessels and cerebrospinal fluid, and neural connections to cerebellum and medulla oblongata from both sides of the brain.
