27 squares

Im goin with 40, mein neger

36

Too

1 square with a lot of lines drawn through it

It's 40. I asked my autistic 9 year old, and this was his answer, and he's never wrong about these sorts of things.

I counted to 36 then confused myself.

34

222108.

t. autist

666324 if you want to get super autistic.

it's 36 and your kid is stupid

BREAKING NEWS

You forgot the square that was the sum of the square of the other two sides

what other two sides?

What about the whole image which is a square and the word "square".

I'm only counting 16 how the fuck is it anything else?

I count 40. I wish someone would post a real solution, though. Showing how to arrive at whatever number is correct.

either 420 or 69

I think I see how you idiots are looking at it. The squares with lines going through them don't count assfaces.

Meming aside I got 40. Count all the tiny squares, that's 8. Count the two squares made of tiny squares. That's 10. Count the regular size squares. That's 26. Count the four easily identifiable squares made by combining four regular size squares. That's 30. Realize there are five more big squares you can make out of 2x2 regular sized squares that overlap to form a plus shape. You're at 35. There are four more overlapping 3x3 squares that can be made. 39. The whole picture is one big square. 40.

Why wouldnt they?

did you multiply 498x446 instead of 497x445?
smh tbh fam

Rolling for this.
I count 45,

Its 40. Would make a pic to prove it but im too lazy.

1, large square, the outside of the whole box
4, 3x3 squares made from each corner towards the middle
9, 2x2 squares, if you move across 1 square you can get 3 in each row, and make 3 unique rows
18, full squares, the 4x4 making 16, and the two in the middle that overlap
8 small squares made by the overlapping in the middle.

for a total of 40.

I know the answer, but then I would have to ban myself as a result.

irony much?

2px*2px squares
498(-1)*446(-1)=221,165

3px*3px squares
498(-2)*446(-2)=220,224

446px*446px squares
498(-445)*446(-445)=53

to find the total you'd have to run it through a script

1 + 16 + 8
= 25 uniquely identifiably aquare shapes in total.

1 + 8 + 8
= 17 uniquely identifiable squares if certain 'squares' are not to be considered such if their fundamental base or core shape is interrupted by the intersecting borders of other squares.

t. autistic 9 year old

between the antialiasing and the artifacts i see no squares

Depends on how you count compound squares.

1 2 skip a few 99 100

there is no square

16.

Those are equilateral rectagons, you retarded sperglords.

If that's true, then what's their collective hypotenuse, smart guy?

Attached: really now.jpg (400x800, 246.08K)

technically each box is 71 x 70 pixels from the center of the line some of them are 72 x 70. The larger ones are also un-even so none of them are squares.

So fuck you.

There are 40 rectangles that are borderline squares.
there are 118 rectangles including the ones that are almost squares.

Counted 40
