What are some things that break your immersion in film and tv Holla Forums?
Yes, I feel like in the 80's and 90's the black representation was just right. It wasn't overboard and completely forced and obvious like it is now. You had guys like Carl Weathers and Bill Duke in Predator and Danny Glover in Lethal Weapon. It didn't feel like they were replacing any kind of white role. There wasn't any blatant "cool hip black guy vs lame nerdy white guy". And they didn't make up 50% of the cast. They appeared about as often as the demographic was (12%).
I also hate whenever there are teenagers or college age kids the dialogue has to be overly puerile, way too many sex jokes to be taken seriously. Lots of heavy drug use.

Overused sound effects that should have been retired decades ago. Everybody knows the Wilhelm Scream, but I can't even begin to mention the number of times I've heard this used on everything from muscle cars as it was originally recorded, to sport sedans, to SUVs all the way to supercars that don't have a Detroit V8 in them. I've heard it in films, shows, cartoons, games and music.
There's also that worn-out engine crank/tick over, usually with some beater or junker after its driver takes the key out that I always hear too, as well as that dirt/sand "squeal" when a vehicle pulls away on non-solid terrain and kicks up a load of dirt.
