But it seems like their plan backfired because people from silent majority decided to reveal that they agree with this anonymous engineer who wrote the memo. Real reason why they are so upset about things that anonymous engineer wrote in the first place is because he expressed some views (such as biological differences between sexes) that attack core of social justice dogma that states "all people are equal at every aspect" and "all differences we see come from cultural influences". They really had no choice but to attack him somehow and to delegitimize his writing.

The guy destroyed all his credibility when he started mentioning genetics. It's much simpler than that, and you can get the point across from a strictly empirical deduction; it is more about statistics and logic than causation (minorities are exactly what their name suggests, therefore they will have a smaller amount of competent engineers compared to majorities simply because majorities have a much bigger pool to choose from). He could have made it about Affirmative Action rather than your standard Holla Forumsack discourse and he would have been a real martyr, but he decided to "connect all the dots" instead of reducing himself to surface level observation.

He also offers suggestions as to how to increase diversity without resorting to affirmative action, whereas Holla Forums would just write 'kill all niggers t. moonman' as a conclusion. He has good credibility because his essay was fair and accurate. However, his essay was not politically correct for Google's politics. No matter how fair and accurate his facts were, being politically incorrect means that he would be punished according the masters of the politics in Google.
