We can't have total capitalism or there's too much poverty and inequality, but we can't have total socialism because there would be no incentive to work and everyone would have to share toothbrushes. What we need is 50% capitalism and 50% socialism. Capitalism is the most efficient and reliable economic system but we still need the socialism part so we have welfare, social services, free education, roads, etc.

Its like anything in life; too much of a good thing can be bad. We need a healthy mix of socialism and capitalism. I don't have the numbers in front of me but I feel like a 60/40 split is the sweet spot.
