Why aren't you a Winx Club fan?

Why aren't you a Winx Club fan?

because I'm not a pedo or a six year old girl

well you should be

I only watch superior little girl shows.

Only recently got into it with the previous magic school Precure show and now the new A-La-Mode sweets cooking show. It's alright. Not sure of the previous incarnations but the monster of the week designs have mostly been terrible. Fights can be surprisingly action pack like that of a shonen. It's clear they put a lot of money into animation for it when they do it.

I liked the magic school one over the sweets one at the moment. I like the concept of a-la-mode but it took too long to introduce the villain and kind of rushed getting all the main characters together in a row. It's slightly improving after 13 episodes but it's nowhere near where I'd like it to be.

Because it's a super crappy W.I.T.C.H. ripoff.

We never learned what witch stand for

I'm doing the opposite, watching from the beginning till current season. I'm on Fresh Precure now. Quality varies, but is overall very acceptable. I can't speak for the quality of the designs on the monsters of the week for the current seasons, but I imagine after more than 500(+) of them, some of them are bound to be a bit lame. I'll cut them some slack on it since the monsters aren't the main attraction, so to speak. The actual villains summoning the monsters are, and they're all ace. Especially the further back you go. The main villains in the first two series, for example, were metal as fuck, and all of them were remarkably memorable with their minor character development and plots.

I'm just starting to get to the series' with bigboy budgets, so I'm pretty excited. You could see glimpses of actual money dedicated to some of the fights in Yes Precure 5 Go Go!, but usually it was the standard fare (if not as cheaply done as Futari Ha.) I'm especially looking forward to Heartcatch, as that's widely accepted as the undisputed best in terms of budget, animation, direction, plot, characters, etc etc.

Rushing character introduction and dedicating a full episode to each girl as they transform into Precure for the first time is tradition. Usually the villains and their organization is introduced front and center too, though, so I don't know.

It's explained in the first episode that it stands for their names:
Will
Irma
Taranee
Cornelia
Hay

meant for

Pretty Cure classic has a surprisingly big following for a dead gay kids' show from 2005

It's not surprising. It's the first in a long-running and beloved series, alongside being a good show in itself.

Too kino for me

...

Fun fact - if Cure Black and Cure White aged in real time they'd be 25 this year

You sure on your math, man? Honoka and Nagisa were finishing up middle school, 9th grade, when Max Heart ended. That corresponds to 15/16. They'd be 27/28.

Either way, I don't know how I feel about christmas cake Black and Howaito. Honoka could maybe pull it off, but no thank you to Nagisa.

Durr you're right. I forgot the two series cover multiple years, my bad.

Life is cruel mang

No. Fuck that.

Nagisa is a good girl who can do it if she tries, and her bond with Honoka is unbreakable. She'll enter rounin-mode and study to the point of death to get into the same prestigious high school as her. I believe.

There's gotta be porn of this series, right? Post it.

all cuckino

...

check those dubs

I always thought it would be pretty funny to have Black and White a bit older seeing as they usually appear in the annual cross-over movies not anymore though as the same age permanently.

On that topic, I thought it was weird the VA for Nagisa and Honoka always come back to the do their characters for the All-Stars movies, but you never hear Hikari's VA in them. Did she just not want to do Precure anymore or is she ded?

(nice dubs)
If they opened that can of worms, they'd have to age every Precure in subsequent appearances. It's best to just keep Pandora's box closed.

I don't know about Hikari's seiyuu though. Japan doesn't do that horseshit where you can just dodge a contract and call it quits. You voice characters for life, and Tanaka Rie aint dead. MAL has her listed as Hikari up till New Stage 2 and DX3, so maybe your ears are mistaken? I haven't yet gotten far enough in the mainline series to start watching the cross-overs, so I don't know.
