Gerry Conway's Carnage: The Conclusion

It's not bad, just obnoxious. It's still better than everything else by Marvel right now. The girl power, lesbians out of nowhere, and kaiju fight really comes straight out of Korra.

That is bad, and I bet we will not get any good porn out of it either.

This isn't korra. This is that time Dukat went full retard, or the ending to starcraft 2. I have been waiting to binge on all this, but now I don't know if I want to. Marvel sure does fail to deliver.

When is Marvel going to give us an Eddie Brock ecchi series? It's what the fans want.

Marvel is to prideful, and stuck up to try something that might actually be good. It would at least be a kind of tongue in cheek kind of series.

So, that girl died because no one could just get down to avoid the spikes? And why she didn't told them to get down? She had time to jump and get impaled. And they were looking directly at Carnage, they saw the tentacles coming, but the lady needed to jump because the other two brain dead dykes could not get out of the way?

Heroic deaths are cool, but only when they are not the byproduct of retardation. It kind of grind my gears in the wrong way.

You fucked up, Conway. There is ONE rule, when dealing with Cthulu, and that's that you never show Cthulu. Eldritch gods are not characters, they are literary devices. Their looming threat is supposed to be apparent by the influence they have even in their slumbering/imprisoned state. It's not even about the dark, incomprehensible nature of the elder gods, it's about how they play upon the baser natures of man (greed, lust for power, etc.) or how man plays himself by fabricating some greater purpose. Conway managed to touch on some of that, but only barely, which makes it seem like he just managed to imitate some good source material amid all his deus ex machina, "power of love", saturday morning cartoon mish-mash.

The sad part is, I can enjoy both of these halves on their own. On the one hand, a dark story that contemplates things like cults, the internal logic of psychopaths, and redemption headlined by one of the most iconic anti-heroes and his dark(er) mirror sounds awesome. On the other hand, a globe-trotting Indian Jones adventure that makes a pastiche of ancient cultures and ancient mysticism resulting in a crazy battle between ancient evil forces and whatever last minute macguffin power the heroes have unlocked, headlined by two bombastic personalities with super-durability, perfect for butting heads in a big clash.

Either of these sounds like a good read, but these are two great flavors that should be kept as far from each other as possible. I wonder if a year from now we'll find out about editorial meddling or something, because it's hard to believe someone over the age of 14 could be this big a hack.

yeah, claire & the swami guy dying seems out of place in this power rangers-eque climax. Additionally, Clare died because trained fighters with experience battling Cletus taunted him like schoolyard bullies, then stood still and unguarded as an angry Carnage turned his attention on them.

I think the ending was rushed. It was probably going to originally be longer.

Don't count on it, user. Venom and Carnage are the only symbiotes that stand the test of time. All the others have been killed off for good or just forgotten.

Until the Edge of the Venom verse comes out. Or not but i think its for the best
