It is going for two more seasons incredibly. There are curiosities to be found in later seasons, but nothing will ever be as good as the first 3-4 seasons. so just watch all of that and you're good.

Susan turns out to be from the islands with the humans, and had a childhood friendship with some bitch i don't remember the name of, and by the end of the last episode Susan says goodbye to Fin and flies off with this new bitch that Fin hadn't even met yet, this is all after him finding out Susan only left her home because she was sent to find him. His reaction to that says it all.

Except the fact they don't let too much time to the spectator to familiarize with new characters and theirs meaning like finn's mom for example, why they need to make it so dramatic, he could just fucking ask to PB to make a line for him and his mother to still have contact with her and tell her he's ok

The ultimate point of the miniseries was to confirm status quo on a particular point (that is, Finn does not want to be with other humans). So they had a lot of extra time to fill.

Yes, Stakes was better than Islands. In Stakes the plot picked up immediately and it kept going; sure, it was shit that reverted back to status quo in the end, but at least every episode something was happening.

**The first episode of Islands was setup, as expected. The next three episodes however were pointless filler. Nothing of any real consequence happened and nothing of the islands was really explored. It was just an excuse for the animators and writers to play around with weird shit like the old lady and the virtual reality.

Susan's flashback episode was not bad, but that should have been the second episode of the miniseries to set up the actual Island plot, not the halfway point. The rest of Islands was unsatisfying as any plot in Adventure Time: Finn meets his mother and convinces the other humans to return with him to Ooo, so you'd think that those a pretty significant events, right? Nope, all the humans at the last moment decide "meh, I'd rather stay here" and Finn says goodbye to his mom forever, even though he could come and visit any time or have a communication line set up that connects to Ooo.

And notice how convenient it is that all the doctors died, except for Minerva. Why did they even have the doctors administer the medicine in person when they could have just used robots for the task? And don't tell me they didn't have robots at that time, because that would mean that Minerva invented the robots. She's just a doctor, not a scientist or engineer.

The only thing that did right was Martin. They actually made him a good guy: he goes from being a con-artist to a loving husband and father whose past tragically catches up with him. He is the first one who makes it past the guardian, but not because he wants to get away for selfish reasons, but because he wants to protect his son. It's such a stark contrast to the Martin we have seen so far.**

Stakes was just mostly fighting vampires. While the vampires were actually cool they didn't really involve the central plot of Marceline dealing with her issues, so all that shit was essentially the same as the stuff with most of Islands.

And those early episodes of Islands showed off things in the rest of the world, showcased some of the ways that humans were surviving or trying to stay alive, and in general explained more of the deal with humanity's culture.
The rest of your complaints aren't even that big a deal. Wow some overly convenient writing, that's never happened before in any piece of media, wow status quo from Adventure Time? Color me surprised!

Fuck off, Islands wasn't perfect but it was the best AT has been in years. The characters were enthusiastic, there was exciting adventure and discovery, we learned so much shit about humanity and the world as a whole, and the best part is that Finn actually wasn't shit on in pretty much anyway. The fact that he jobbed to the robot in the first episode sucked but in every other episode he was smart, strong, compassionate and resolute. It's the best possible way that he could be written in the modern day, and his storyline was decently satisfying.

He's supposed to be maturing into an actual man and shit so suddenly introducing a mother to baby him seems very out of place. No reason a neat little human colony couldn't be in Ooo after that though.

And I'm not even able to agree that Finn was watered down, here I was so impressed by how much I liked him. I also think him talking just sounds boring but maybe it was my imagination but outside the first episode he sounded full of life for the whole thing.
Even that episode that was just him wandering around talking to himself was fun, he had pleasant, cute dialogue. I usually hate episodes that are mostly Finn talking to himself because it's usually boring but they even made this good.

He's probably nowhere near old prime Finn, but I think I can be happy with this interpretation. It felt like he still had a similar spark in him that he used to have. If he was written this interesting more often I'd probably still like the show.

I have a hard time justifying continuing to watch this show. Its far gone from its original premise and there is nothing of value to be found in its continuation.

Well its creator left the project several seasons ago. Sugar helms the project now and look what that go us. The hero plot all but abandoned in favor of using finn as a plot device to tell stories about ancient lesbians.

I'm not current on it, but pendleton wards bravest warriors first season showcases what was lost when he left the AT project.
